I think Gordon will re-sign with the Bulls for $10 million plus a year.

But it will be sad if he ends up going for the MLE, and a team like New Orleans, who is in financial shitland, end up signing him. I think Miami, San Antonio, Dallas, Orlando, and Houston will all make strong plays at Gordon. (All five of those teams can all play the no state tax card). And I'm sure Cleveland, Boston, and the Lakers will offer Gordon the MLE too. I think almost every team in the league will put in an offer for Gordon using the full MLE.

Gordon and Wade could work but there are better fits for him. We talk all the time about whether to keep Hinrich or Gordon when Hinrich is the perfect guard to play alongside Gordon. I would want a guard like Hinrich alongside Gordon with a playmaking SF.

Deron Williams and Gordon
Billups and Gordon
Andre Miller and Gordon
Stuckey and Gordon

These are examples of guards that probably would be better fits with Gordon. I ultimately think as I said earlier that Gordon goes to Detroit with Stuckey.

Call me crazy but I would take Wade and Gordon over any of those combos. I have to agree with everything Doug said. When you have a player like Wade, you don't need the traditional PG role. Gordon may take the ball up the court but he wouldn't be playing a PG role necessarily. I personally think it would work just fine. Gordon would fit well with any superstar because of how good of a shooter he is. Can you imagine how good Gordon would be if he wasn't double teamed all the the time?

The Detroit think doesn't make sense to me as threat. The only way he would go there is if Bulls don't offer contract. He get the same money, see 10 minutes less, won't play down the stretch, live in crappy place.

Po3, there is no way IMO that Chicago pays 10+ million for Gordon. I will be STUNNED if us or anyone pays him that. Dpauley as me Detroit I think they absolutely want him and want to move Rip for a bigman(Boozer).

i think you get gordon at either 10 mil a year or just under that, the MLE is not enough unless he goes to be a key contributer on a contender where he can earn his next contract.

I think it will be pretty much $10 million+ for Gordon in Chicago, OKC, or Detroit. MLE on contenders and Heat (who would probably be a contender with BG and an improved Beasley).

I don't see Utah doing that because it puts them in worse financial position (Hamilton contract is around 4/46 after this season).

My point was that I think Gordon wouldn't want to go there. I actually agree with you that Detroit wants him. If they were going to trade Rip though theres no way they would of signed him to an extension this offseason. Detroit could probably sign Boozer and Gordon both this offseason, but there have been reports that Detroit has soured on Boozer and want Bosh or Amare

BTW, another scenario that could play out is something like.

Lebron to Cavs owner: "I want you to go get Ben Gordon this summer."

Lebron and Co. fly out to meet Gordon. Sell him as the 2nd option for a championship team with Lebron. Cavs owner promises to give Gordon a big pay raise after three years when the Cavs acquire his bird rights. MLE contract for the first 3 years.

Then Gordon replies with what if Lebron leaves in 2010? I will be the best player on the team and be making MLE money? I just go back to Chicago play with guy in Drose who will give me the ball in the clutch where I make my money while Lebron will try to make all the clutch plays might I am better finsher under minute then Lebron. Ferry goes home crying and Lebron getting pissed that then didn't get Gordon leaves next year goes to Bulls and dynasty is formed

They would just do a S&T and take one of our bad contracts. But I really can't see them wanting Ben that bad.

If we agree to trade Ben Gordon to the Cavs, then everyone in the front office should be fired. We would be guaranteeing Cleveland championships for the next 10 years.

If we sign and trade Ben to the Cavs we better get some legit talent back in return. Otherwise we've screwed our hopes for a championship in the near future.
