They were dominant in the trenches but Garoppolo was pretty bad that game. Kinda showed that no matter how good you are in the trenches, a good QB is more important.
And KC proved that a great QB without a good line is not worth much.

The answer is an elite QB and both trenches.

You may not always win it all, but you will always have a chance of winning it all.

I agree, specifically on the OL.

Our secondary concerns me. I would love an influx of young talent there.

I actually think our DL is good and deep even if Goldman flakes out on us. The question will becomes if Edwards can replace Hicks next year. Can Edwards repeat what he did last season?
and can they stay healthy

How much did Fangio factor in on "Pace drafting defense well." ?

Seems kinda odd that a GM only drafts one side of the ball well...and that side just happened to have a great coach.
I agree that Fangio made the whole defense better. However; Pace did draft Johnson after Fangio was gone.

I think that Pace was good at drafting defense late and Fangio was good at defense, period. The defense was exposed last year because the defensive coordinator was not that good.

Maybe Pace is not that bad at offensive players also, but the offensive coaching isn't that good either?
