mmmm..... Nothing as exciting as Shanahan leftovers eh?I'd be all in on Lance.
There's a reason Kyle Shanahan has the 49ers considering between him Mac Jones and Fields at 3

He did pass on Watson and Mahomes, with Brian Hoyer as his starter at the time, just like Pace. Then he drafted Beathard in the 3rd round, a guy that was projected to go undrafted.mmmm..... Nothing as exciting as Shanahan leftovers eh?
If the Top 4 were gone and Lance fell to 20, I would be OK taking him.On the radio this morning he predicted they trade up to 4 with ATL and take Lance. Say want you want about the specific player/trade but despite what some may think on this board the bears are STILL desperate. You don't make big plays for Watson and Wilson then sit on your hands come draft night. If there is in fact an opportunity for them to trade up and make a play for a QB. You can be all but assured that's exactly what will happen.
As an aside, I'm ALMOST as excited for the cunting over picks given up as I am to have a young QB on this team with potential. Buckle up bitchez????
Why would a team with a ton of picks in a WR heavy draft trade for an expensive vet WR?Absolutely. If Fields drops to MIA and Pace can ship next years 1st, ARob and a few other non-1st rd picks, you do that all day.
Yeah, and that reason is he will be available at #3. That's it.I'd be all in on Lance.

To give Tua a sure and proven weapon. MIA has a ton of picks, it’s WR deep, and they can draft one in 2 or 3 and see if he hits. Why would a team with a ton of picks in a WR heavy draft trade for an expensive vet WR?
Mond sucks, lacks confidence at the position. Nathan Peterman equivalent.I don't want Pace to move up for Lance or Fields. Lance could very well be Trubisky II, and Fields is an OSU QB. With all the winning they do, name one OSU QB that played well in the NFL in the last 70 years.
Since 2000:
Steve Bellisari
Craig Krenzel
Troy Smith (Heisman)
Terrelle Pryor
Braxton Miller
Cardale Jones
Dwayne Haskins
*Justin Fields
The best NFL QB they've produced since the 50s is Tomczak. Ohio State is the college QB equivalent of the Bears.
It's a major crapshoot to take either of those players, and to give up multiple 1sts to get them is incredibly risky. I want the Bears to draft a QB as much as anyone, but I think Mills and Mond have just as good a shot to succeed as Lance and Fields.
Nonsense. That list of past QBs combined don’t equal the potential Fields has. Cardale Jones and Haskins? Come on.Bullshit. OSU QBs are coming out of college unprepared to play in the NFL. It's a long established pattern. Are they overdue? Yes. You want to risk 3 1sts on it? Nope.

Different players from different eras with different coaches going to different pro teams in different degrees of fuckedupedness don’t coincide one percent with any player in this draft. That logic is just dumb.
Take Wentz and Lance. Will Lance have the same stats Wentz had his first few years in the pros because they went to the same school? Lance doesn’t have one half the QB skill Fields has at this point in time.
Yeah, they’re almost as inept at scouting QBs as Pace is. Lynch and Shannahan get a lot of hype. Remember, they’re the guys who also passed on Mahomes and Watson (like Pace), took 2 first round busts in Solomon Thomas and Reuben Foster, and overpaid backup Jimmy Gatappalo. And Pace took the bust Trubisky. I don’t see why you put so much faith in their QB evaluations over, say Nagy, who was all in on Mahomes.I'd be all in on Lance.

The only reason I would is because this is a pretty solid QB class and it will be a long time before the Bears pick in the top 5 again. They are a mediocre team and will be that way for a while with the current roster. So you're good giving up 3 1sts for Fields. Asinine.
Never said that. I would be totally fine with giving 20, next years first, and some extra picks and perhaps a player. If Fields drops, he may fall to 7-10 range. Falcs aren’t trading out. They’re taking Pitts. So you're good giving up 3 1sts for Fields. Asinine.

You're correct, a bit overzealous of a comparison, but I do see them as similar in that I feel as though they both lack confidence in playing the position.aside from throwing for like 4,000 more yards, 30 more tds, and 1,000 rushing yards in their college careers, sure I guess. Not saying Mond will be a star, but I think to say he’s peterman at best isn’t fair either. I don’t really see their styles of play as similar either

We just disagree on his rank. I respect Simms, but he’s wrong on this one IMO. I think he’s the only one who has them ranked that way and Fields dropping that far.I would consider one 1st and the 20, but honestly I think Simms has Fields where he should be (32). If he's there at 20 you have to get him.
