The matrix contains no cellular material.   It provides a framework for the tissue to repopulate and apparently the body "knows" what goes where once the framework is provided.  Apparently matrix from pigs bladder is remarkably like human cellular matrix.    I think I also read in a previous article about this, that part of the healing process involves your own stem cells migrating to the area to form the different tissue types, as part of the inflammatory response to injury.</p>
