I just don't think it is smart to retain Eberflus.

No, it is not.

2-10 division record

10 wins in two years, but only like one against a team that finished with a winning record.

A defense that lingered in the basement until the GM bails it out with a midseason trade.

Defensive coordinator sent into exile for crimes so great we aren't to ever speak of it again.

Completely failed to develop a young quarterback.

He should be fired in a matter of hours, but Bears gonna Bears and try to sell me on "progress".

Like they haven't had enough time to analyze?

This organization is such a bunch of hand wringers, no vision at all.
They have fired the last three coaches and two GMs on Black Monday.

The delay this time could be to see if a certain coach is available before making a move.

Don’t forget his clock management skills, or lack thereof

Who the **** else is desperate enough to coach this dreadful franchise?
This team was 7-10 even with the multiple blown 4th quarter leads and has draft capital and cap space and the #1 pick.

Should be very attractive opening if they move on from Flus.

I think today is going to be interesting. If we do get news of the Bears firing Luke getsy first that means Matt is safe. But if they do fire Matt, things will be super interesting. Of course if we hear nothing, we should turn in our fan cards until the next head coach because nothing is getting better under these group of idiots
I really think we won’t hear anything about coaches today besides rumors. Since they knew they were out of the playoffs, I think they decided last week on scheduling 1 on 1 exit interviews with players today and then poles and Warren will talk to the coaching staff the next day.

If he already knows that they are moving on from him, then I’m sure he requested to at least have an exit interview with his players and the Bears obliged.

We will see what really transpires. .

We’re gonna get a bunch of information from around the league today, but nothing from the Bears for the next 2-3 days because “process” and “consensus” and “feeling really good about how we listen to players”.

Getsy will be the sacrificial lamb. And then they’ll find a way to make an “exhilarating” run to the 7th seed in next year’s playoffs.

It worked so well in DC they’re drafting 2nd.
They may be able to help us draft 2nd next season. Gotta rack up those draft picks for the infinite rebuild!

For all the cap space they had last year did it really make that big a difference?
Yes. They improved from 3 wins to 7. You know they could only fill so many spots last year right? This isn’t hard.

I think they currently sit at $62 million, but will clear up another 20+ million with Jackson and whitehair. Then eat into that a little with a bunch of futures contracts. Also JJ extension/tag will take up a good chunk too.

Overall still a lot of money to spend and in good shape to add a difference maker or two
