It's weird, this was only Eberflus's 2nd year with CHI yet it feels like a lot longer than that.

Objectively speaking, it's hard to think the Bears would fire him after only two seasons (one of them being where they gutted the team of talent).
As someone mentioned before, this sure feels like the Cubs' playbook, bring in a sacrificial lamb to suffer through the worst of the rebuild but then bring in a top HC (Harbaugh) when any signs of improvement arise.

If Harbaugh wins tonight the frenzy to hire him will be crazy
The Falcons, Raiders and Chargers are all said to be interested in hiring him.

Teams know who and what he is. They won't become suddenly interested in him based on tonight's result. There's genuine interest from several teams, and lot of that has to do with his prior NFL experience, of course.

If the Bears were to be in the mix, they'd have to be prepared for a long process.

I tend to believe they are not interested, but waiting on Flus status could very well be to wait until tonight's game is over and the college season is past.

We shall see.

If that's the goal, then it's definitely White Castle
The only problem with sending him White Castle is that some people might not understand why he was sent White Castles, because it is not a national brand.

Now, if he gets Taco Bell, everyone would know what your endgame is, pun intended.

Once we send a Crave Case, they will know....

Im more disappointed in today than I am with yesterday’s predictable result.
That's hard to quantify. real time disappointment is disappointing. I didn't really care about the win but what a shit show!
Both sides radically out schemed and Fields wasn't shit but had the same problematic tendencies.

They did. They signed Patrick, he was injured and brought him back healthy year two. If you don’t like the results then blame your former OL GM. (And assistant GM)

They spent big on Davis. They drafted a top tackle. Most fans LOVE Teven. They did a ton. Again, don’t like the results? Then maybe Poles isn’t the guy.
And most here keep saying Braxton is untouchable, though I expect to see the Bears draft a LT.

I think he could be a good coach with some slightly better players....

Lets be honest, the Bears need a couple more positions filled. Players did develop under him, that's a credit to Flus and Poles...

There has got to be a better choice than Getsy...

For Getsy to succeed you need probowlers up and down the oline...

How many pro bowlers does Flus need?

I don't think more better players help Getsy either. His plays are just ass. If he had the players he would use them wrong.
Think of the former Carolina teammates asking why they're using DJ like they are.

The oline doesn't help but it's not for a lack of ability.
It might be the center or even the QB causing the confusion but someone has the oline completely out of whack so they're double teaming while letting the next player run free. If it was C or QB I would think the line would at least be on the same page. Instead you have half the line on one page while the other half is on another page and it's an open book to the QB.
It's most likely the oline coach trying to be the smartest guy in the room and redesign how oline works confusing players who've been doing the job for years.

I've seen bad oline on the Bears. This is beyond bad players, it's just wrong.

He would perform like Laremy Tunsil if we would have drafted CJ Stroud.....Not!

He's an average run blocker with liabilities in the passing game. Good for a 5th round pick, but not a good LT.

Once the Harbaugh stuff gets settled the rest of the teams will fight for the remaining scraps
Can you save us all the trouble and just tell us what the script says about where Harbaugh 'lands' and who is the Bears HC, OC and QB1 in 2024?

George cares about what the fans want, not about winning at all costs.

The fact you have to ask this proves my point.
Not all fans want the same thing. How does he decide which fans to appease? Flip a coin?

We did this dance a couple of years ago with Harbaugh though. He was being wishy-washy and interviewing with MIN or something. The Harbaugh situation is NOT unique imo. The chance to draft a QB prospect like Williams is unique, however.
Are you saying that the Bears are going to trade down to #2 for a king's ransom, trade right back up for a king's ransom++, then draft the QB from North Carolina, Trubisky Maye and then complain years later that the Bears didn't draft Penix when they had the chance after Penix becomes a superstar?

They signed Patrick the year before, and although he was ineffective/injured, they decided to roll with him for another season.

TBH, I'm not sure Poles is the guy. We failed to improve glaring needs on the O-line.
The offensive line is not great but it is not bottom of the league.

You are correct that he has never won a Super Bowl in his relatively short tenure with the 49ers. What he has shown is that he can take QBs like Kaep and Alex Smith and build a legitimate NFL offense. I sure hope there is someone in Halas Hall pounding their fist for the opportunity to bring him in.
Hopefully, it is Flus himself, "Bring in Harbaugh! I am in over my head."
