So do we get Dallas or the Blues? Who would you prefer they face in 1st round of playoffs?

Dallas plays Nashville, St. Louis plays Washington. Dallas holds the tiebreaker I believe and they entered today with 107 points apiece. So it's still up in the air.

I'd rather play St. Louis. I have serious doubts about Dallas' defense and goaltending, but their offense is far, far more terrifying than anything the Blues can boast.

Because of the injuries and trades I just feel like we have never been so confused about who belongs where.

It's time to Panik.

Blues it is. I think I prefer the old play-off format, 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5.

Nah dis better, we play the Blues and don't have playoff games at 3am because of West Coast bullshit.

Of course will will wind up playing the Kings or Ducks soon, so yay.

Me too. I was just talking about that with the wife last night, she doesn't like the current system either.

Although, we would be playing the Kings under the old format.

But still, I think it makes more sense. Especially if one division is much weaker then the other.

I didn't think the old format was bad, but this format definitely works well in terms of building rivalries. It's so much easier to build rivalries in divisions when you can see these teams in the playoffs, too. And I think the NHL, more than any other sport, thrives on rivalries between teams, ESPECIALLY divisional rivals.

Icehogs got swept... not having Leighton hurt them but I think the CBJ's farm team had a lot of more top prospects including their goalie who was doing well in the NHL for stretches this season.

Blackhawks defense will be put under the microscope this offseason.

The Sharp trade which brought in Daley, which meant Oduya wasn't coming back, which eventually brought in Scuderi was a big time failure and the Blackhawks have to eat some cap space next year because of it. Stan added depth to the offense at the trade deadline which surprised most people who thought he likely should have gone for defense (outside of Ehrhoff).

Svedberg was re-signed but he seems like he has a long ways to go. Rozsival may certainly be gone. There aren't any prospects that scream "NHL Ready". Gus had an up and down year and Rundblad shouldn't be allowed on the ice in the last 20 minutes of any period.

Playing and leaning heavily (too much) on 4 dmen in the playoffs needs to stop. I don't know how Seabrook/Keith can keep up the pace.

Defense for sure seems to be the weak spot going in next year, but I really liked how TVR finished out the year and I think that gives us a top four that is fine. Just need to find a consistent 5,6,7 which is doable. Or a 4 if you don't think TVR can be a top 4 and then you only need to find a 6,7...

If seemingly with no more Rozi. Having the potential for TVR to either play the right side more or just play with Hammer which was a good pair sounds solid. The other additional hubup is Pokka is a rhd who mainstays at at RD in Rockford. If he makes an impression to make the Hawks going into next season that's going to make lineups unsettled. Maybe he could play besides Keith and that could work

My biggest hope for this offseason is that it is every bit as boring as the prior offseason was not.

Better 4M next year than 1.5 this coming year and 1.5 the year after.

They could pay him 2 mil this year if they trade him 50% retained.
