Hinostroza, that's an odd choice. I guess he had impressed them in camp

HERE COMES VINN BOY! I've called Hinostroza for decades now.... FINALLY!

No chance he's worse than Toews.

I thought him and Mashinter were the two forward guys that stood out to me in pre-season who were balling all out for a gig. They played like they wanted it. The other guy was Graham Knott but I never considered him as a possibility cuz too little and too young.

Keith is out 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery

Source.

Looks like it is time for everyone to step up. This is when a player like Daley or TVR can really solidify their spot on this team, take it to the next level, and help the team out now and in the future. Really going to be interesting to see what the Blackhawks decide to do with the #5-7 spot.

Likely Cumiskey is called up unless there is a conclusion to that ongoing trade rumor. The current lines in practice as of today is uncomfortable looking

Daley-Rundy
Hammer-TVR
Svedberg-Seabs

The only positive I like of that is the potential to see if Hammer-TVR can gel together because if you can make that work, later in the year that along with a Keith-Seabs top pair again can give the team a more legit top 4 roled roster with Daley-whoever hopefully adding a more offensive 3rd pair punch perhaps.

I like it but I rather see the 3rd lineup be a safer, stay at home type of pairing instead of one that is offensive minded. Hjalmarsson/Daley could work out since Hjalmarsson can cover up a lot of mistakes with his positioning and his defensive abilities. I'd like to see TVR step up to be a #4/5 type guy that can play 15 minutes a night, anchor it down back there, give the top guys a chance to rest, and not really show up on the box score anywhere most nights...which would be a plus.

Well, at least he finally gets some rest time.

I take the blame guise.... I suggested Keith get paired with Svedberg and he committed knee suicide rather than let that happen.

I am very sorry.

Got a feeling that mini-slump Toews has been in to start the season is just about over.

That the Hawks were looking for a veteran defenseman

no shit. Its almost inevitable this season. Somewhere I was just talking in the last day or two about "god forbid one of the top 3 goes down", I can't find it.

Anyway....this is the chance for Daley to step into his role as a minutes eater with offensive prowess. Some of Keiths role is the ideal scenario's for Daley. Get him on the power play, let him eat some minutes and show his worth.

TVR is our savior right now, while Svedberg feels like sorta a gimmick, but a gimmick is better than putting a not ready defenseman into the fire. At least Svedberg scares opponents, blocks out the sun, reaches across the ice like a sunrise ray of light, and is a secret penalty kill weapon. He gives Q some funky tools from that #7 spot. He needs to stay there.

This is Daley/TVR's void to fill. Seabs is a captain now, he must be tested in his ability to lead a mess early on.

Are we an average hockey team with some scoring flair without Keith? We are about to find out and that is what I think to an extent. Its always been Keith with those last second sticks and quick outlets that drives this team and keeps the score down for Crow.

****. Fack. Flip. ****.
