Initially Kruger seemed out of whack not having been over for any preseason-training time but now it's been going and there isn't much anything well any of those guys have been doing.

I think I saw it said they did put the lineup in practice that mixes the bottom 6, with Kruger-Teuvo & I think Shaw together as a line while Kero centered Garbutt & Desj. It's more of a typical 4th line of just whatever you got energy role. Though the 3rd line some don't like the idea of Teuvo in that role but honestly last year before the Vermette/Sharp combo, I think he played his greatest besides Kruger for a few games. They actually filled in well as a combo

On other player news, Bickell has been doing what one would want him to with Rockford. Some times players get sent to the AHL and they can't even do what you think they should do at that level but Bickell has like 5 points in his 3 games he played. So he is showing he's clearly a guy who can still dominate in the AHL like his talent at this stage of his career should do, but what will come of this situation is not known.

I long for the day that this Rundblad experiment ends.

Just waiting for the right type of injury to come along somewhere in the league....always better to deal to a team in need rather than one who wants.

A high priced dman goes IR and you might be able to move both Rundblad and Bickell at the same time....won't get much in return other than money coming off the books, but at this point you take what you can get.

Saw it commented on this site and other places...but I have no issue with Toews fighting. Look, you don't want him fighting all the time, hell you rarely want him fighting at all because of how valuable he is on the ice, but he has picked his spots pretty well so far this year. There is a risk of injury with fighting but there is with hockey in general as well. Toews is struggling to put the puck in the net and get on the score sheet (where he needs to be), so it isn't a bad thing to see him step up in other areas while he tries to get going on the scoresheet again. Guarantee that every player and coach appreciated Toews standing up for a tough nosed player like Hjalmarsson after taking a bad hit from Backes. That sort of stuff brings a team together, whether it be for a period, game, or several games. Don't necessarily want to see it continue, but mixing it up a little can certainly help a player get going in other areas of his game.

This.

It seems he's a bit better in a scrap than he used to be. The way he got the sweater over Backes' head and got a good shot in before the linesman stepped in was nice to see. Maybe he's been getting private lessons from Brian Higgins. Regardless, he shouldn't have to drop 'em, but sometimes a Capt. has to do what a Capt. has to do. 75% is balance with an assist from raw strength...which he absolutely has. The other 25% can be learned.

As long as it's not a habit, I don't mind Toews fighting. It seems like he only reserves it for players that are particularly obnoxious to him, such as Backes and his old bouts with Joe Thornton. But Toews' best contributions to the Hawks will forever be what he does with is gloves on.

How long did it take you to come up with that one?

Repressed memories have no timetable. The proper question would be...was he (could he have been) seated at the time of his retort?

Anyone know why Bickel is bad at hockey? The guy sucks balls. Plus he's a huge wuss. Didn't he get beaten up by a 150 pounder last year?
