According to who? LA's power-play was 17th in 2012 (17.0%), 21st in 2011 (16.2%), 7th in the NHL in 2010 (20.8%), 14th in 2009 (19.2%)
With the exception of 2011, each of those percentages were far better than anything the Blackhawks put together. Anything between 17-20% seems to be a pretty decent production rate. Anything above that is top 5.
We shall see. 16.2% and 17% don't exactly inspire confidence, especially with the talent LA had to put out on the PP the last two seasons. Regardless, I prefer to hear from people that actually watched the Kings and their PP, than looking at the numbers.
Would you say the Hawks' PP looked good in 2010-2011? It is actually amazing that their PP finished where it did, to be honest. It looked dreadful for huge stretches, but you would never know that by looking at the numbers. That's why testimony from people that watched is so valuable. Why does nobody anywhere have anything positive to say about this guy?
