Didn't see anything about buying at the box office or Hawkquarters. Seems to be only through Ticketmaster. I'm trying to get a bunch for Opening Night - have a lot of bandwagon family and friends that want to tag along and see the banner raised. Will give it my best try but most likely it will be just the wife and I in our STH seats.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
In years past, STH would get a presale code so we could buy extras early.

Those days are L-O-N-G gone!

I am hoping to at least get Opening Night... If not.... $40 per game, are they nuts!?! I don't have that kind of money right now. -.-

I know its well worth it, but even If I had a job, $40 is a bit much for just sitting down in a seat. I might as well get cable tv and watch the games at home at this rate for around the same amount and I haven't had cable for years...

Sign of the times, and this team has a fresh piece of silver to show off.

I'm fine with paying what I pay.

I don't even have a job right now and I'm struggling to the extreme, so yeah, its a bit expensive. Please understand that. Its bad enough I'm selling some stuff as it is to get a chance at seeing the opportunity of a lifetime on Opening Night.

However, with all the places I have been to, not even Anaheim costed that much in the upper deck the year after the championship.

Either way, the prices are definitely not good for those like me out there who can barely make ends meet.

You're joking, right? I'd kill to get tickets for the home opener for only $40. If you think that's a ripoff, you're dreaming. It's reality....get used to it.

I wouldn't mind doing that for the opener, since thats once in a lifetime... but I can't do that every night is what I'm saying.

Don't take offense to this, but, being iunemployed means sacrificing luxuries. Trust me, I was out of work for more than a year. Attending sporting events is way up there on the "needless expense" list. Along with going out to eat, going to the theatre, buying liquor, etc. Forty bucks isn't much at all if you're employed, and is much closer to the average NHL ticket price.

$40 is 1/3 of what people were charging for games last year against good teams... so....

I know... I was preparing for Opening Night... I'm just shocked at the price is all. Instead of the usual 3-4 games I purchase ahead of time, I can only do one this time around. I'd rather make it worthwhile and Opening Night pretty much qualifies.

I still don't understand why you're "shocked". Prices last year were very similar....300 level seats routinely cost $40+ depending on your source....especially if you wanted something between the blue lines.

Yeah man if its this shocking that saving up forty bucks is a huge deal do yourself a favor and don't buy tickets. I don't mean that sarcastically but if its this big an issue, you got bigger things to worry about.

I'm looking forward to the stories tomorrow about how TicketBastard really fucks this up.

"I couldnt' get thru for over an hour, then I was in line for 2 hours, then the first 20 games i tried to get tickets for were already sold out. But i was able to get one standing room only ticket to a BJ's game on a Tuesday night. Total price was $150, which included multiple Ticketmaster fees, delivery fee ($25 to print it on my own printer  ), city tax, and new Stanley Cup surtax.

Well at least its a tax deduction since the Hawks are a non for profit.

Can tickets be bought online for the opener if I tried right around 10:00 or do you have to call?

So in essence, if I were going for a 300 level $40 buck seat, I'll probably be paying 60+ bucks with the taxes and fee's eh?

**** it, I'm watching the games at home.
