Why would you blow up this defense? The defense will be why a coaching and GM candidate will be attracted to the Bears.

Why would they be attracted to a team with an old defense that is taking up a ton of cap space and yet the team still sucks? Coaches are attracted to teams with wide open cap space who either have or in position to get a top young QB

He’s already under contract. He’s good. But not really worth the contract. He doesn’t offer much pass rush at all. He’s essentially a run stuffer.
