Why would they be attracted to a team with an old defense that is taking up a ton of cap space and yet the team still sucks? Coaches are attracted to teams with wide open cap space who either have or in position to get a top young QB

He’s already under contract. He’s good. But not really worth the contract. He doesn’t offer much pass rush at all. He’s essentially a run stuffer.

This defense is not going to win a championship. Pace has dumped a lot of money on the wrong side of the ball.

A good offense makes a bad defense average.
A great offense makes a average defense good.

The talent and money is so lopsided to 1 side of the ball. The contracts Pace has handed down pretty much make it impossible to start over.
