Seabrook out caused the D to be more conservative than usual.

The Hawks were very lucky to get a win tonight..IMO, they got outplayed for most of the game, and the refs were definitely in the Blues corner again

one more to clean this mess up. Coin toss game 5, get Seabrooke back and take this the distance. Finish them in 7

Not sure how that works out -seeing as the Hawks had fewer penalties than StL ( and had more powerplays) ... although they would have made it easier on themselves if they had gotten a 2 goal lead with more than 20 seconds left in the game.

Hawks were extremely fortunate to win that game last night.

Blues controlled most of the play and dominated the 3rd period. Crawford stole one for the Hawks.

Not sure how the refs were in the Blues corner seeing as the Hawks had more PP, had four straight PP in the second period including a short 5 on 3 where somehow Steen got called for hooking even though he had released his stick.

As I had predicted, the Hawks D looked a little shaky without Seabrook. They really struggled against the Blues forechecking which created a lot of giveaways.

If the Blues play like that again Weds night, the series will be 3-1 heading back to St Louis.

Fingers crossed that the Captain makes his return Weds night.

I think the issue has to do with the Hawks forwards, though. They're not coming back far enough to help alleviate the pressure from the Blues forecheck. They're hanging out in the neutral zone expecting a long stretch pass to break them out, but it's not getting there because the D-men don't have enough time to find them open. The Hawks have had multiple stretches where this happens.

There were a few plays where the Hawks C would come back between the faceoff circles, as he's supposed to, the D-man would hit him with a quick pass, and the Hawks would start flying up ice in the opposite direction. It didn't happen enough.

I actually thought Brookbank played a pretty damn good game.
