Anthony's contract is pretty absurd itself when you consider it is more than Deng's and he doesn't play both ends of the floor (unlike Deng, who does).

Fact is that the Bulls can win a championship this year, if one of the big two on the Heat goes down.
Great plan.

:obama:

...especially when you consider how fucking Special person Erik Spoelstra is.
Spoelstra is an idiot but he's not dumb enough to **** this up.

They are probably right, too. Wade can carry the load scoring-wise for LeBron and Battier can make-up for much (not all) of what James brings defensively.
James and Durant are the only two real MVP candiates this year. IMO Lebron could be heading towards a 28-9-9 season.

Spoelstra is Special person?

He's pretty fucking bad.

If Spoelstra had half a brain he'd hire a Triangle offense guru or expert and install that shit like yesterday.

Except for the fact that he's better than Deng...........................and that's not even a question.

I am fairly certain that the Bulls would have needed to include Taj Gibson or Ronnie Brewer along with Noah+Deng in order to match salaries in a Carmelo Anthony deal.

Not from anythign I ever saw. Especially the rumors from before Noah signed his deal. After Noah signed the extension it still wouldn't have been needed because the extension didn't vest until this year IIRC.

Gibson was never a throw in piece. He was a guy the Bulls were trying to add in plus picks to have the Nuggets take Dengs contract back.

I don't recall ever seeing, and still haven't see in my quick searches, anything talking about a 3 for 1.

Okay, so assuming that the Bulls could have made that trade and kept Gibson, the Bulls would have definitely been able to somewhat compete this year assuming that they AC'd Boozer and signed Nene/Marc Gasol/David West.

That is a pretty chance-y game to be playing, but it is plausible it all could have worked out very well. I'll grant you that much.

Care to elaborate?

The man watched a hockey game during the long lock-out and FINALLY discovered that his job, as a manager of a professional TEAM sport, was to be more than a baby-sitter to his players.

Last year, he let a crippled Rondo DESTROY his team in a playoff game or two.

There are so many more examples.

Any more or less chanc-y then trying to bet on James or Wade getting hurt?

Marc Gasol (or) Nene, Asik
Gibson
Anthony
Brewer, Korver
Rose, Watson

Can't say I hate that prospect at all.

Also for the record I would have maybe thrown a 1st rounder at someone to try and get Reggie Evans.

Yeah, I'm going to be pissed off even more now if the Bulls don't land Dwight Howard or the Heat don't fall on their faces.

LeBron will win the MVP this year.

Dude is pissed off and will go beast mode. I'm betting heavy on that.

he'll probably be around his typical 28 7 7 im guessing

miami looks way more refined than they even were in the playoffs though..and thats a scary thought when you think about bosh, wade, and lebron working in sync

and then you got norris cole who may end up being one of the best players in this draft

the main improvement that i would like to see from lebron is using the post more...he's 6'8 260...and quick..he should be able to hold his own inside

it really adds another dimension to his game that i think takes him to another level..

not only that but you have to think when lebron gets in his 30s he wont be able to overpower people as much with his athleticism...but he'll still have his size...and i think from there lebron should look to use the post

if he hasnt really developed a post game..it might hurt him later(or he could develop some kind of go-to shot)

The media is looking for an excuse to not give it to him. They already have that in the fact that team already has Wade and Bosh who can both make up for a heavy dose of touches/scoring opportunities that LeBron would have otherwise had.

its really a pitiful excuse when you look at lebron's numbers last year...they dip very little from his numbers in cleveland

If Dwight Howard stays in Orlando all year (somehow), then he should win it. Orlando is going to be an upper seed again in all likelihood regardless of people ignoring them.

maybe, maybe not...i would agree with you more a couple of months ago..but dwight seems a bit checked out

perhaps its not having a preseason and all the stuff that got thrown out the window with the lockout..but then again everyone else in the league is dealing with the same issues

to me it just looks like he doesnt want to be there...

on another note, jj redick ftw

The Mavericks will also be fine. Dirk Nowitzki is a lone star on his team. If the Mavs are a top 3 seed, after losing Chandler+Barea+Stevenson and gaining only Odom+Carter+Delonte West, he would win the MVP over LeBron.

i'm confused you say the mavericks are fine...yet in the next two sentences you say dirk is the only star and if they get a 3 seed then dirk should be the MVP...

i guess it depends what you define as fine

barea and chandler were huge losses..

odom is a great player..and a good addition..but he's not terribly young and he plays like a guard more than a post guy

carter is garbage

delonte is good for some shots..but besides that he's barely a starter

dallas will be ok...but they wont be a top 3 seed...probably make the playoffs but in the bottom half

True. But in Cleveland, he didn't have Wade and Bosh as his second and third best scorers. He had Mo Williams... and... pretty much nothing else.

Wade, LeBron, and Bosh combine for roughly 65-70 points per-game.

Wade and Bosh on their own could combine for about 50 points per-game, and Battier/Jones would add another 10-ish. Their scoring would not be anywhere near as efficient, but still lethal.

Dallas still may be the second best team in the West behind OKC. They could end up as a lower seed but I don't think that will happen. When I say that they are "fine," I mean it as that their record will still be up there because they are a team built to win in the regular season. They had a couple of bad games against good teams. They'll be up there and Dirk will have a legit shot at MVP again- especially when you consider how Chandler, Barea, and Stevenson are gone.

I said that Chandler was the reason that they became title contenders. They are not going to win a title this year now that he's gone.

this is true..but it doesnt mean anything...lebron still puts up similar numbers...his assists and ppg have dropped the most from sharing the ball with wade

Wade, LeBron, and Bosh combine for roughly 65-70 points per-game.
usually ya...i think if anything we'll see bosh's numbers decrease a little...maybe wade's too...

Wade and Bosh on their own could combine for about 50 points per-game
could...but it wouldnt happen..wade is probably going to be in the 22-26 range...bosh high teens or around 20...i see more 45 points per game at the most
they average around 43 PPG last year..and now you have battier cole not to mention haslem getting a bigger role

of course this affects lebron too..but lebron has established himself as the leading guy on offense(dont misconstrue this as him being the leader of the team...because i still think thats wade)...plus he doesnt get slowed down by injuries like wade can

and Battier/Jones would add another 10-ish. Their scoring would not be anywhere near as efficient, but still lethal.

maybe a little less but thats about right..battier acts as a glue guy-defensive specialist(i also see battier playing some at the 4 for miami) and jones is for the outside shot

if you have bosh and wade combining for 50 PPG that probably means pretty high usage for those two..and that hinders the rest of the offense...definitely not as efficient and i dont see that route being taken

well, dirk will hold his own..but i dont think he wins MVP...west is a bit open but you got the clippers, spurs(they are old but can still play...manu ftw),lakers, grizzlies, warriors(i like what they are doing),blazers to contend with....

kidd is breaking down, marion is aging, they dont have a center...again odom is a good player but he plays like a guard...terry is getting up there as well

they'll be good for sure..but i'll be surprised if they are 2nd in the west...it would have to be because of dirk

I said that Chandler was the reason that they became title contenders. They are not going to win a title this year now that he's gone.

yep...now they dont have a center

Trade them both for Howard. Noah can't shoot for the world and Boozer's lack of D makes me want to punch a hole through the wall.

that works well when you have non-point guys like wade and james who handle the ball and have bosh inside
