The problem with Desp is that he's got these Jay Cutler blinders on that prevent him from seeing any other perspective than success is because of Cutler and failure is because of everyone but Cutler. I wish I was as flexible as he was doing his mental gymnastics to twist every angle into something positive about Cutler. And I say this is as a repeated Cutler apologist who still hangs on to some shred of hope that Cutler is still going to become a good NFL QB despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Right now? Definitely not, because this coaching staff makes me believe a lot more. But last season was the worst Bears season I've experienced.
I'm not surprised they lost, but it's absolutely infuriating that they lost a game when they had eleventy billion chances to win it.
lol really?
People complain and state so many times how wins/losses are on the quarterback, only when it fits their narrative. Cutler brings the bears back from losing, and it was a team effort. Bears lose and only score 21 points? Gotta be Jays fault!
The only reason I'm vocal about being a Jay fan is that i've seen the shit he gets from fans, listen to it, roll my eyes and laugh. All my friends and I just laugh. It's like, really? There are other players on a football team and everyone in Chicago just wants to shit on the one most scrutinized and easily watchable. Remember when Hester was the Bears #1 and people were shocked 6 couldn't make him a good WR? It never ends in Chicago.
I'd like to think you've noticed I don't solely put all the W's on Cutler, but when the guy is blasted week in and week out by Chicago and comes up with huge plays to LEAD the Bears to wins, you bet your ass I'll be vocal about saying "Hey, maybe the guy isn't as bad as people in this city think?"
I also realize there is more to a team than just the qb position, and I'm vocal about it because so many fans don't see that. It's herp derp, always the qbs fault! Like against the lions.. People seriously are saying Cutler has to take blame. Really? I mean.. Noone is perfect. I think that's what Chicago fans don't understand. You'll never get a perfect quarterback, they make mistakes. But having a above average one that the team(ya know.. The ones who matter) loves is fine by me. Now let's fix this defense!
