Trestman, yes. Marshall, disagree

I think Trestman was so bad at his job he let Marshall become a distraction in the locker room and media.

I honestly think Fox would have been able to keep a lid on everything just fine but I think the decision to get rid of him was made before Pace and Fox were even hired.

Definitely miss him on game days and still love watching him play in NY.

I am ambivalent about Marshall. I don't miss him as much as some, but I'm not happy he is gone as some are.

He is gone though.

The league wouldn't let a random player **** around and then have 2 jobs for the league and a show that covers the league. If he were an actual problem he wouldn't be there.

Absolutely. Problem is BM gives 100% and has never played on a winner. The guy hates losing. There was a time when we hayed to lose. sigh

The problem with Desp is that he's got these Jay Cutler blinders on that prevent him from seeing any other perspective than success is because of Cutler and failure is because of everyone but Cutler. I wish I was as flexible as he was doing his mental gymnastics to twist every angle into something positive about Cutler. And I say this is as a repeated Cutler apologist who still hangs on to some shred of hope that Cutler is still going to become a good NFL QB despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Right now? Definitely not, because this coaching staff makes me believe a lot more. But last season was the worst Bears season I've experienced.

I'm not surprised they lost, but it's absolutely infuriating that they lost a game when they had eleventy billion chances to win it.
lol really?

People complain and state so many times how wins/losses are on the quarterback, only when it fits their narrative. Cutler brings the bears back from losing, and it was a team effort. Bears lose and only score 21 points? Gotta be Jays fault!

The only reason I'm vocal about being a Jay fan is that i've seen the shit he gets from fans, listen to it, roll my eyes and laugh. All my friends and I just laugh. It's like, really? There are other players on a football team and everyone in Chicago just wants to shit on the one most scrutinized and easily watchable. Remember when Hester was the Bears #1 and people were shocked 6 couldn't make him a good WR? It never ends in Chicago.

I'd like to think you've noticed I don't solely put all the W's on Cutler, but when the guy is blasted week in and week out by Chicago and comes up with huge plays to LEAD the Bears to wins, you bet your ass I'll be vocal about saying "Hey, maybe the guy isn't as bad as people in this city think?"

I also realize there is more to a team than just the qb position, and I'm vocal about it because so many fans don't see that. It's herp derp, always the qbs fault! Like against the lions.. People seriously are saying Cutler has to take blame. Really? I mean.. Noone is perfect. I think that's what Chicago fans don't understand. You'll never get a perfect quarterback, they make mistakes. But having a above average one that the team(ya know.. The ones who matter) loves is fine by me. Now let's fix this defense!

If your infatuation with a player distorts your view of him on the field, it certainly make your arguments stupid.

The things that worries me about Fox is this: I asked 3 or 4 Broncos fans I knew about Fox when the Bears got him. They all said that he'd be entirely too conservative and his clock management was fucking awful. And in his sixth game in Chicago, both of those negatives were a significant factor (note: not the only factor, but a significant one) in the Bears losing a game. You just hope that is other positives outweigh his negatives. Still haven't seen a perfect coach, but I've seen coaches that were had enough positives to make their negatives less damaging.

I think that whole franchise in yet another downward spiral and they're dangerously close to blowing up the whole thing. And all I can do is point and laugh. **** the Lions.
Unbelievable. The guy isn't perfect, but he's a damn good qb. Yaknow what really matters? That the boys on the o-line love the guy. You as a starting center in your days should agree. if K Long and Slaus go out of their way to show their loyalty through social media, maybe it says a lot about the guys leadership and overall play. And that's good enough for me.

Exhibit A, your honor.

Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman were popular with teammates too. Means little.

None near as talented as Jay, but okay I get your valid point.

Talent has never been the issue.

So finally a competent coaching staff, a team that is in full support and seemingly improved mechanics; what is the issue here?

Just like yours? What I don't get is why the same five guys constantly pick on the guy. At least he is passionate and tries to be optimistic. The same group of five posters are doom and gloom all of the time. If you're not part of their clique then they just bash and make fun of you anytime you make a post. It is fucking stupid. This board is turning more and more into a shit hole of either trolls (hhm, grimson, Novak, or Johnny) or every post getting bashed by the same group of guys (Broc, FT, Mongo, American Psycho, or OneBud). That is more annoying than any of Despro's posts.

To be fair HHM, Grimson, and Novak (and Omletepants) are all the same person, most likely all alts of Panda.

All that, and he's still average. Which is fine.
