Well, you do think a Hail Mary as time expires is an "ill-advised throw".

:obama:

The decision was ill advised yes. The Bears had the ball at the 45 with 1 TO(and 10 seconds left) and Cutler scrambled around bleeding the clock to zero before he threw the pass. More than enough time to take a shot over the middle to improve the field position and take the TO(like they tried to do the play before...taking only 5-6 seconds) making a last second play to the endzone easier.

But hey, keep on derpin.

Just like yours? What I don't get is why the same five guys constantly pick on the guy. At least he is passionate and tries to be optimistic. The same group of five posters are doom and gloom all of the time. If you're not part of their clique then they just bash and make fun of you anytime you make a post. It is fucking stupid. This board is turning more and more into a shit hole of either trolls (hhm, grimson, Novak, or Johnny) or every post getting bashed by the same group of guys (Broc, FT, Mongo, American Psycho, or OneBud). That is more annoying than any of Despro's posts.

you win 9 internets for this post.

for everyone that thinks Desperado is the dumbest poster ever, I can probably name 20 more people that are vastly dumber. last I checked the majority of us were Bears fans, I don't really see anything wrong with being a fan of the team. the players that are on the team are who they are, there's people that are experts in evaluating said talent and make a lot of money doing it, though I maintain they really missed on Jimmy Clausen. (the lol)

I'll even throw Hbkrusso in the discussion. these guys at least aren't fucking dicks all the time. LOLWUT WE CAN SWEAR AT CCS, YOU'RE A FUCKTARD! that gets old.

if you don't like the state of affairs with the Chicago Bears then go find a new team. you can't honestly tell me this is worse than the Wannstedt or Jauron years.

and for the record, for the last 4 years people were gushing about the Detroit Lions defense and how awesome Matt Stafford is with Calvin Johnson at both CBMB and CCS. are you surprised that a rebuilding Bears team narrowly lost to what's, on paper, a superior unit with the Detroit Lions? give it a rest already.

:aj: at this mindset.

"Blindly be happy about the state of the team no matter what or go find a new team!"

I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

your statistical analysis is great, however.

The problem with Desp is that he's got these Jay Cutler blinders on that prevent him from seeing any other perspective than success is because of Cutler and failure is because of everyone but Cutler. I wish I was as flexible as he was doing his mental gymnastics to twist every angle into something positive about Cutler. And I say this is as a repeated Cutler apologist who still hangs on to some shred of hope that Cutler is still going to become a good NFL QB despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Right now? Definitely not, because this coaching staff makes me believe a lot more. But last season was the worst Bears season I've experienced.

I'm not surprised they lost, but it's absolutely infuriating that they lost a game when they had eleventy billion chances to win it.

To be fair, this is what happens on every Internet message board I've ever seen. Internet forum users group up like high schoolers everywhere you look.

Are you serious? They tried that on the play before and Marshall dropped the ball. The final play was a designed play call for streaks to be run to the endzone for everyone except Bennett (who ended up being covered well on the play) and have a jump ball. Cutler did the only thing he could do for that play call.

his Cutler love is strong. I don't think that makes him stupid or a bad person though.

I know it's popular to shit on John Fox cause of how the Lions game ended, but I feel significantly more confident in his crew compared to others the team has had. you have to admire the fact that the team is comprised of a lot of scrubs that are just there to fill out a 53 man roster and play with more heart than they did last year with arguably much better talent.

and I totally don't excuse the fact they lost, I just think the Lions are a better team than their record indicates. I think Jim Caldwell blows, they're probably getting Trestman-ed with him at the helm vs. dickhead Schwartz

If your infatuation with a player distorts your view of him on the field, it certainly make your arguments stupid.

The things that worries me about Fox is this: I asked 3 or 4 Broncos fans I knew about Fox when the Bears got him. They all said that he'd be entirely too conservative and his clock management was fucking awful. And in his sixth game in Chicago, both of those negatives were a significant factor (note: not the only factor, but a significant one) in the Bears losing a game. You just hope that is other positives outweigh his negatives. Still haven't seen a perfect coach, but I've seen coaches that were had enough positives to make their negatives less damaging.

I think that whole franchise in yet another downward spiral and they're dangerously close to blowing up the whole thing. And all I can do is point and laugh. **** the Lions.

Marshall was a great player on game day but I think if White and Jeffery had both been healthy all year this team would most likely be 3-3 and we'd be excited about moving forward.

I'm no fan of Bernstein but he was absolutely right about Marshall and Trestman. They both had to go and he called it not weeks but months before it happened.
