Bold prediction time:
If he does indeed stay up...Calder finalist.
I don't think that's too far-fetched to say at all, mainly because he has the best core in the NHL to learn from. If he passes 9 games I would assume he would have found chemistry with someone and all of the players in the top 9 are pretty talented for the most part and draw attention to themselves. Saad doesn't have the pressure of carrying the team, or any line he's on, all the kid has to do is play.
That said, I don't think they will hesitate to send him back to juniors unless he really impresses and makes it impossible for the Hawks to send him down. He has all the tools to play at a high level, it's just a matter of his production out of the gate to see how well he does. Also depends on injuries along the way as well, if someone is gone for a while they just might keep Saad if he does fairly well in his 9 game stint.
So yeah, I pretty much agree: in order for Saad to stay after 9 games, he would have to be playing at a very high level already... if that happens he'll be an early candidate for the Calder. From there it depends on how consistent he can be, if he can do that too, definitely a Finalist.
