Hopefully that means Ben Smith will be in the line-up tomorrow.

Carcillo is back. I don't think Stalberg or Smith will be in the line up tomorrow. Q said he hoped to have smith cleared for play by the end of the week. He did not take contact today in practice, meaning he has not passed the test.

Probably for the best to send the kid back to juniors. He had a strong camp and made an impression. We all know he probably wasn't NHL season ready though. He entertained during the pre-season for sure. He will be back and the Hawks def have a gem for the future.

They will.

It's your fault for chosing him knowing he wouldn't stay. They wont fleece the Jr team. By that time Morin will hopefully be back. Or Pirri again. Or Klinkhammer. Saad is off your roster for good there spanky. So sad, bye bye...

If both he and Mcneil are ready next year.... A real 2nd line Center and a Wing for him. Awsome!

NHLN's ticker at the bottom of the screen keeps repeating that the "Blackhawks Assign F Brandon Saad to Rockford (AHL)." Doh!

He turns 19 in 2 weeks, but you have to be 20 don't you?

Could he fall into the same category Morin did and leave juniors for the AHL when he turns 19? I remember last season there was some discussion about Morin playing in the AHL instead of the OHL

I know it was discussed here somewhere before, but I don't remember the answer. I think Morin has an extenuating circumstance that Saad doesn't? International play or something? Talking out my ass again though.

I think Saad has done all that playing for the US deveolpmental hockey team and on the US World Junior Team.

Chris Kuc reported it had nothing to do with age. 18 is the AHL age. The agreement is with the WHL not OHL. So he has an obligation with his OHL team that made him go back.

I think Leo said the same thing.
