Awesome! He's the next Mitch Trubisky!!!
oops, read on and see it's been covered.
He's closer size & arm talent wise to Allen/Herbert.

Big + a plus athlete who can sling it is a nice freaking start. Seems durable too, lots to like.

Yep. Bad joke since late to the party. Maye has a shot at very goodness or greatness with the right environment.

QBs to turn down going (just in the AFC):

Patrick Mahomes
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
CJ Stroud
Justin Herbert
Bo Nix

With Joe Burrow and Russell Wilson playing in the Pro Bowl and picked ahead of Drake Maye, he is the 9th QB selected out of 16 starters in the AFC. Literally the definition of average.

Contrats!

Idk about that. Josh Allen is huge. He’s 237 pounds. And Herbert is 6’5” and 236 pounds.

Mitchell is 222 pounds and Maye is 225 pounds (taller at 6’4” though).

Let’s face it, Maye is a taller less accomplished Mitchell Trubisky.

I wondered if this was the worst stat line for a pro bowl QB ever - it was close but apparently Vince Young in '09, Vick in '05, and Tyler freaking Huntley in 2022 have him beat.

Mike Boryla, 1975 NFC QB

Maye's rating is higher than Jay Cutler's when Cutler made his lone Pro Bowl 2nd Alternate appearance, FWIW. Pro Bowls, especially for QBs, are a pretty bad barometer of performance.

Agreed on the Pro Bowl barometer.

Interesting antidote though re: Cutler in that 2008 legendary Cutler season - only two QBs threw for more yards this season with an extra game than he did in 2008. Plus diabetes. Truly a remarkable specimen we are all grateful for. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE CTA BABY!

Bigger frame, Maye will get bigger without any issue. Mitch was filled out by the time he was drafted - Maye's floor & ceiling are much higher than Mitch's.

Maye had more college starts than Mitch - is bigger, faster, stronger and has a better arm. Don't think there's a single person who would have taken Mitch over Maye after their college careers and absolutely not after year 1 in the NFL.

Cutler threw for over 4500 yards. Twice Mayes' output this year. They both threw about 2 INTs to 3 TDs.

:dog:

Not dumping on Maye here but it's very much like the Trubs or other alternate appearances and is meaningless as far as projections go. Could be great or meh at this point.

All that seems correct but you don't know until you know.

@Anytime23 You are very dedicated to this bit. But are you committed to it for the long haul? I'll be very impressed if you are.

The Pro Bowl is completely worthless and a total waste of time.
