It's called being a fair weather fan. Just go follow those awesome Jags. A team that has won a total of 15 games over the last 4 years. You've picked a bigger train wreck than the Bear as an example, LOL. None here are surprised.

Specifically who's talking about "following those awesome Jags." ? When and Who's "picked a bigger train wreck than the Bear as an example,"

Oh I just saw your bs gif. You're always concerned with another mans rectum and what comes out of it. #116
Same approach anytime you're cornered and caught passing on misinformation. Sad
Lets stick to football and the 2 questions above.

I'd have to see more proof that the NFL will side with the Bears over the city........if they don't want competition..
Legally I don't see how the Bears can hold the city "hostage" with regards to blocking a 2nd team that might be more and potentially be a winner.

"A massive stumbling block to such a proposal would be an NFL rule that would require the Bears to sign off on another team moving into the market. Teams have veto power on allowing other clubs to move, or expand, into their designated market, and the Bears could either veto that possibility outright, or could try to convince any new team to share their stadium in Arlington Heights instead."

so yes, a 2nd team playing at Soldier Field is out of the question

Pretty much the reason every city with 2 teams, they share a stadium. No team is going to allow another team in their market and attempt to do better

I've tried to find where the Bears would "have to approve of another team".

Do you mean the league would have to approve a 2nd team to Chicago? Also, if Soldier Field is available, why would a 2nd team have to share the field in Arlington?
I've also read where they gonna upgrade Soldier Field to entice a 2nd team
No, the Bears specifically.

Interesting how our baseball teams can co-exist Well my stance has always been lets be SB contenders, by whatever means possible. New team, sharing a stadium, not sharing whatever. I just want to see this town win another SB. I want all the younger ppl to see this town win a SB.

I think it would be great for younger ppl to finally see a SB winner here. Football-wise, I want that more anything

The Browns were no less abysmal than they are now when they fled Cleveland for Baltimore. Clearly the misery didn't follow them to Maryland.

Bears left the market for some suburban backwater. Did the Redskins have to give the Ravens their blessing to move into Baltimore? Because its only about ten miles further between those cities than it is between Arlington Heights and Chicago.

No they didn't leave the market. No matter how much you cry and whine about it, isn't going to change that

The Bears veto won't mean shit. If Jacksonville wants to move to Chicago and Chicago wants to have them it will get done. Shahid Khan is one of the hundred richest Americans and Chicago is the sixth richest city in the world. The McCaskeys are the NFL equivalent of a family-run restaurant. And its not just the power disparity, the league stands to make billions off a second franchise in Chicago vs. leaving one in Jacksonville.

There is absolutely zero question that Soldier Field will get a new NFL tenant if the Bears vacate. The city is already making that clear.

Are you stupid? The Bears will have the veto power. The city can't do shit. Are they going to tell the NFL what to do with their league?

The only way the Jaguars come to Chicago is by playing in Arlington Heights

Power and money talk, bullshit walks. George McCaskey and Ted Phillips probably are arrogant and naive enough to believe this veto "power" will save them, but the American reality is that powerful people and powerful entities get what they want and no rules can stop them.

The Raiders and 49ers played on opposite sides of the Bay for decades.

Oakland and San Francisco. Not the same thing.

I said same city.

Cry all you want, but no NFL team will ever play in Soldier Field after the Bears leave
