My guess is he gets suspended the rest of preseason and 5 regular season games. Really dirty hit that could definitely warrant more games but Smith doesn't have a history which leads me to believe they wont suspend him more than 5 games.

This is one of the incidents I wish Carcillo or Scott were playing and they'd come off the bench and kick the shit out of the nearest skilled player out there. **** suspensions... it's about POTENTIALLY ending the career (extreme) of one of the Hawks best looking prospects.

I think the entire philosophy about players having a history or not is another thing that Shanny will be changing. I think it's more of a no tolerance deal now and that behavioral history stuff isn't going to hold as much water anymore. And this is probably for the better.
