The only problem I have with hiring Toub or
Bowles are the coordinators they bring in. Who does Toub bring in for OC & DC and who does Bowles bring in for OC. The problem with this scenario is that the better OCs are going to get HC jobs or stick with their current teams.
I just don’t want anyone from the past as coaches. I don’t care if we take a risk with all new names as coaches and coordinators. Just try with all new faces.

Well, I think Daboll's Dolphins were ranked 20th on offense...but I get what you mean. It's hard for me to believe he magically figured it out with the Bills and Josh Allen. This is why I prefer Roman because he has done well with the QBs he has had.
Where do people get this shit from. Daboll and Allen came to the Bills the same year. Allen was an extremely raw talent. I would venture a guess that Fields is on pace to have a better rookie season than Allen did. I remember Allen barely had a 50% completion rate and had more picks than TDs. Last year when Daboll won assistant coach of the year McDermott said when he hired Daboll he gave him the keys to the offense. McDermott was a defensive guy his whole coaching career. What you see in the Bills offense now is what Daboll built from the ground up. What you see in Allen is what Daboll molded a raw rookie into. Daboll's first year in Buffalo they had one of the worst offenses in football. Two years later (last year) they had the #2 offense and this year they have the #1 offense. To say that back in 2012 he coached some bad offenses and hasn't learned anything since and is just lucky is asinine. The bigger questions is why would you think he would want to come to Chicago to be the head coach of this dysfunctional franchise. If the Bears HC opening was the only job available that would be one thing. But there is always 3 to 5 openings every year. Every article I have read lately regarding where Daboll ends up has him going to the Vikings or the Raiders.

I never said he hasn't learned. All I'm saying is that this is the first time his offense has been above average. He has been in the league for awhile. If he figured it out, that's great.

Daboll is going to be a HC next year, that is a given. I am sure he is on the Bears short list. One of the things I like about him as relates to the Bears has been his ability to develop a raw rookie QB with many of the same traits as Fields into one of the best in the league.

Roman has a better track record of success. He's always been the #1 guy on my list. I think he's about as rock solid of a candidate as you'll find. Daboll wasn't successful anywhere until Josh Allen came around. I worry that he's a fraud. At least with Roman, you know he can work with multiple QB's and make it work.

Would be ok with daboll but Roman, Toub, and Bowles are my top 3
Toub is my choice. He had great special teams in Chicago. Any one would be better than Nagy. I supported him all along, but his ability to talk and spin is so much more superior than his ability to win. I have tuned him out and I am looking forward to any kind of a change.

Just for what he did with a horrible Jet team and for he continues to do in Tampa....I have to go with Bowles. He is well perceived by most in the NFL and should be able to draw a top OC to join him. I've always been a huge fan of Toub but being a ST coach and a HC is vastly different....plus you can't ignore the fact that the majority of his time here in Chicago, he had some guy named Hester here which kind of helps on STs.

This thread aged well . . . hehehehe

Bills getting SMOKED at home, down 38-7, lol

What's more interesting is Josh Allen is still in the game. Earlier in the year the bills won 35-0 and didn't even allow mitch to play in garbage time which leads me to believe . . . Hmmmmmmmm

LOL @ Daboll being the front runner .

Its amazing how people quickly forget what $hit show of a franchise they are dealing with.

You think they are going for Daboll but then you end up with non other but

Leslie Frazier who brings along Ken Dorsey as the OC

Is it all possible for Gruden to come back
Gruden's "interim" replacement however.... Hmmm.

In fact, I'm not sure that he isn't signed by the Raiders as their head coach almost immediately.

Now, want to look up what "Alleged" is in the dictionary?

I titled it like that, because while it was the hot name at the time on the forum, I personally was NOT sold...
