Not that unusual to keep an underperforming player on a rookie deal. If you look at the 2022 draft, like 85% of the players taken in rounds 3-5 are still in the league. Many of them are nobodies.

I mean we are now 2 and half weeks since the Carolina game and Brisker is still in the protocol. At some point it becomes less about should Brisker be extended and more should Brisker continue playing football.
Dude will have made 7.3m by end of his rookie contract. Money cant help him if he has dementia in his late 30s or 40s because he continued to play and get concussed at an alarming rate.

He plays a more important position that typically requires more time to develop, he also doesn’t have a straight path to CTE that brisker has. Not all injuries are created equal.
