I've probably heard 10 or so songs over the years and can't say I enjoyed much of anything I've heard. His hits are quite annoying IMO and they kind of steered me away from bothering to listen to much else.

If there's a song or two you think are good representations of his finer work I'll check them out.

As for the bands I listed, Between the Buried and Me is probably my favorite band right now. They're pretty heavy so probably not your cup of tea.

Sure. All good, some of my friends were the same way about Springsteen then 'dove in' and are huge fans.

If you are into the punk scene at all, Springsteen was big into it in late 70s and you can hear it. Hanging out at CBGBS with the Ramones, Lou Reed and Joe Strummer. It picks up throughout the song, love the rawness of it.
