The Kings have agreed to terms with Portland to acquire Blazers point guard Sergio Rodriguez in exchange for their No. 31 pick, according to a source with knowledge of the situation

In reality, they probably will want James Johnson. Iu'm surprised they didn't take him at 9.

Bulls take Taj Gibson and James Johnson. why do the tweener teams keep getting tweeners?

Hey whats wrong with Tweeners?

Rashad Lewis and Hedo are tweeners. Jamison. Even Odom.

The worst tweeners are the really short guys who dont have the speed/quickness or height to effectively play the 3 or the 4.

Johnson is the good kind of tweener because he is right smack in between of both worlds.

He is a legit 6'8 but has guard skills AND he is a truck.

He has the size and strength to post up and he has the quickness to blow by you.

Basically if everything works out with him, he will cause a ton of mismatches.

It will painful to watch Blair if Johnson struggles.

I really dont know why. Ive never understood why we needed Blair. He is a rebounder but short at that? Why not just get Reggie Evans for that.

The difference with Johnson is, he is as physical, bigger and he can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways.

He automatically comes to the Bulls as the best front court offensive player. Johnson offensively right now he is where Tyrus hopes to be and Noah can only dream about.

Doug what do you think Johnson ceiling is? Is he good enough to be an allstar

If he can learn to shoot, yes, but I don't think he'll likely become a good enough shooter.

Still he's one of maybe 10 guys that I think has a least a somewhat realistic chance of ever being an all-star.

According to NBA.com he can already shoot. "Handles the ball well and can shoot from distance"

I'm not sure how well he actually shoots though.

I think the question is does Johnson and Noah frontcourt provide you enough offense to be title contender. My guess would be no, but who knows. Realistically all he has to do is be able to shoot modest percentage so people can't just play off him

James Johsnon has the potential to be something special with his ball handling skills.

Some things I like about Johnson in comparison to our current front court.

-The guy is strong. Weighed in at 257 pounds at the combine, and bench pressed the weight 18 times. He isn't going to be pushed around in the post by other power forwards.

-The guy can finish through contact, something that Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas both struggle with. This again, has a lot to do with his strength.

-His dribbling skills will allow him to get out on the fastbreak with Rose and Gordon. Imagine Johnson coming down court full steam dribbling the ball as a tiny guard sits there, crapping his pants thinking about the charge he has to take, as Johnson spins around the defender, dishes the ball out to Gordon on the wing for three, it's money!

Seeing these draft picks though, I get the eerie feeling these guys are here to fill a void of one spot.

...the PF spot...

currently held by Tyrus Thomas.

This suddenly makes the Bulls extremely flexible if they decide to make moves. Right now it will mean Tyrus is traded or if we feel we dont want to resign him back, we have viable replacements.

You can also insert Deng into that same sentence.

Chad Ford is biggest joke ever. He's basically comparing Johnson to Tyrus
