trying? They ALL try. BG is a bad defender and horrible ball-handler.

Brother, you don't know about the church of St. Ben of UCONN, pastored by Rev. Kush under the leadership of Bishop Fred? LOL...

Lots of parishioners from bullspodcasters.com...so be careful...

Damn does melo have to come up in every thread? This would be a good move for both teams with no need for further trading from the bulls. Iggy is better than deng at mostly everything and runs the floor very well and can finish with authority. If we got him, we wouldn't have any need for melo.

That implies that Iguodala is somewhere on the level of Carmelo Anthony, which begins to sound incredibly stupid 1 X 10^-50 seconds after utterance.

Not at all.

I'm talking in the aspect of the bulls team. Not as individual players. Iggy suits our TEAM better than melo. I understand that most bulls fans have gold fever, but melo doesn't upgrade us except for scoring.

Are you implying that you'd rather the Bulls had a team of:

Gibson/Asik
Boozer
Anthony/Korver/Johnson
Brewer/Bogans
Rose/Watson

over

Noah/Asik
Boozer/Gibson
Iguodala/Korver
Brewer/Bogans
Rose/Watson

..................?

Melo is an upgrade everywhere on paper for this team. But I do agree that Iggy is a good fit, just because his contract isn't far off Dengs, and Iguodala in my mind is a clear upgrade

And thanks for calling this 1 in 100 chance of landing Melo, Gold Fever :D

Let's get to the point. Will it happen or not? I don't care who comes, but we need a second reliable consistent scorer in order to be contenders. We're one piece away and it doesn't have to be a top tier player. We might land Beverly as a back up, and Iguodala in return for Deng which would be a step in the right direction. On top of the fact that our shooters need to find their shot, which will come with time. If I see either Iguodala or Melo in a Bulls jersey, I'd be fine with it because our core stays in place. It's not about the individual, it's about the team. This we will learn when mid-season strikes Miami and the honeymoon period ends, and Wade has to take a back seat to a better LeBron and Bosh might feel a bit left out. IMO Too many cooks in the kitchen. I like what we have in Chicago. Like I said, we're 1-2 solid players away from contention. Bulls FO needs to pull the trigger on the RIGHT pieces. I don't care what Thibs says about his group, he's doing the right thing as a coach by supporting them, but he's gotta know where they lack talent. I have confidence a coach like him can build the skills in players but somethings can't be coached. They have to know that. Make the call pax!

Meh, hard to get super excited about a Iggy for Deng swap, it's swapping an above average player with a suspect 3 point shot for a slightly more above average player with an even worse 3 point shot. I guess the benefit of Iggy is he can play SG or SF so it makes it a bit easier to find the final piece.

I'd do the swap so long as we're not really throwing in anything else of value, but I'm not going to be disappointed if it doesn't happen. I know everyone is down on Deng, but I'm betting if we swap them everyone will love Deng and be down on Iggy after a few months. Just the way it goes where everyone is always in love with the players we don't have.

Is Nocioni still in the league? Let's give up a future 2nd round pick to get that guy back, too...
Rose
Iggy
Noc
Boozer
Noah

We would average one million rebounds a game...period.

Thibs should (and does) get props for working well with what he's got on the roster in Chicago. Unlike others, we've seen his success in the past. No matter who is on our team, they'll be coached the right way. All NBA fans would like their teams to be the best, so you cant fault guys for the trade rhetoric on these forums however, It's clear as day that we need a second option scorer. Some make more sense than others.

Bogans - he's not working out and his stats sheet says he wont be getting any better.
What you see is what you get and I don't like what I see.

JJ - You've seen his improvement during Pistons game and you can tell he's being coached the right way. He's only going to get better as the season gets underway.

Korver - great spot up, but coach is making him play defense for his minutes. Great!
By the end of this season he will be a better defender than ever.

Brewer - Just needs to get healthy and stay healthy, but you've seen what he can do and it's consistent.

Asik - Already showing sparks, but coach will keep molding him into the best he could be

Boozer - (see Brewer)

Taj - Put the chisel to the stone, he just need to tweak things a bit but he'll be more dominant this season as well.

Deng - He's improved much during the offseason, but after the preseason he just hasn't shown up. So that's inconsistent, and it doesn't help when you cant tell when your players will show up. And that's the inconsistency the Bulls need to address, it's not always "trade this guy and get that superstar", but you need reliability and there are many guys out there who can provide it to us.

Then there's the "Overall" team coaching philosophy. Us fans are on the outside, but we can see what they're going for. I like the defensive intensity, which will only get better as the guys begin to react and not just think about their game. Once chemistry/consistency settles in, we'll be on fire.

Derek needs help in the back court and Bogans wont provide the kind of help he needs, not now, not ever.

Watson was a good pick up I guess, he just needs to control the ball and make better decisions on the court but we need consistency.

We're not that far away. Hang tight.
