Per Tim Kawakami:Warriors execs have apparently been told that Ellis would like to stay in the Bay Area, but that if they're going to trade him, he's looking to go to a contending team that might be a great...

I agree with Doug that its good that a star player has the Bulls high on his list. If they can manage to give up draft picks and some other things without touching their top players...that would be huge.

What would you think about this trade? NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Bulls get: Ellis, Lee and 2 reserves
Warriors get: Noah Boozer.

Would that beat Miami? I think it makes the Bulls closer to beating them.

8th highest scorer in the NBA, if he plays on any other team besides the Clippers, he'd be an all-star.

Man. He's not that good. He is an undersized defender and mostly jumps in passing lanes to get steals. A guy like Manu Ginobili is way better.

If the Bulls give up Boozer to get Lee and Noah to get Ellis, their lineup isn't any better than last year's:

Asik/Thomas(?)
Lee/Gibson
Deng/Brewer
Ellis/Korver
Rose/Watson

I'll take the team we have now over that.

I don't think Ginobli is a way better player than Ellis...Ellis is really good, young and more durable.

Scoring =/= qualifying as a star. He does exactly what Rose does only less defense and no passing skills whatsoever. Do you guys really want another player who scores 43% for the season, has 5 10/30 type games and one 18-30 game once after those 5?

We don't need that. We need an efficient scorer so Rose doesn't have to shoot as much and improve on his passing.

People don't want J.R. Smith...Ellis may be the best scoring shooting guard available. Matter of fact, he IS the best scoring SG available. Partnering with Rose can go either way. But let there be no doubt, Ellis is a very good player...

Ellis would be a good scorer which we need. I say even if we got him,idk if he would be exactly what we need for the long term and that goes for basically every sg available right now. I would prefer someone taller and who can defend better but maybe with Thibs,Ellis would become a better defender. But with his scoring he could help us out a lot because like Hou said he is young and durable and we need someone like that because he would probably end up more reliable than maybe another sg available.

yes, who else is out there than can make Ellis' kind of impact on our team? to trade for him would fill the hole we needed this past year. is kinda short though

Just as tall as Mayo and Gordon...and a better player.

Ellis can find his own shot...and he is probably the best SG available(is nick young available)...he's averaged 5+ assists in the last couple of years...so actually he is a good passer...of course his scoring stats are distorted a bit from a high pace offense...however in that high paced offense defense is not stressed...therefore ellis never really had the opportunity to learn how to become a halfcourt defender

the jury is still out on whether ellis can learn to be a good defender in a halfcourt system...but i think having thibs as a coach is helpful...ellis' jump shooting is improving and he's quick and can get to the basket....i think he'd be a good complement to rose...but obviously there are some red flags on him...but if you can get him for a reasonable deal...then you shouldnt pass that up

I'm not sold on having another undersized back court. We've tried that for years (Hinrich/Gordon - Rose/Hinrich), and it didn't work.

Ellis is a better scorer, but he's not a good defender, and we need a good defender. What good is having a good scorer if he's getting lit up night in and night out.

He's good for the highlights, but I'd rather have someone 6' 5" and up.
