Afflalo would be awesome. I would love him on the Bulls.

It just sucks that the Nuggets view him as "untouchable." I don't blame them.

I like Afflalo a lot too. If we don't get one of the "studs" (ie Iggy, Ellis, Martin (lol), etc) I'd put him near the top of my list. I don't blame the Nuggets either...he's a good player that can probably be had for a good value, assuming he doesn't demand something ridiculous. We'd probably have to overpay to get him away from Denver though.

it wouldn't hurt for the Bulls to just give them a call and see their asking price. That's if they resign him... which they will.

Only one sure way the Bulls get him.. since he's a restricted free agents, the Nuggets can match any offer he gets... so the Bulls would have to offer A LOT so the Nuggets don't match. Like what the Blazers did with Matthews.

Do you think it would be worth it?

Well most people's ideal scenario is an All Star SG. More realistic is getting a decent defender who can score a bit (Courtney Lee, Aaron Afflalo, etc). I guess what we want is somewhere in the middle.
I'm thinking realistic. We just need a solid player at the 2. One who score when needed and who can also defend his position.

I'm not a person in love with big names, especially one's that don't help the team.

And that's why the Redick signing hurt us. When Orlando matched us, that put us in a hole at the 2. I don't want the same thing happening again.

Well I'm pretty sure a big name (ie Ellis, Iggy) would help the team, but yeah I see what you're getting at. To me, I feel we'd need someone a little better than a Courtney Lee to get by Miami. Afflalo would be great if we couldn't get anyone better, but since he's restricted, Denver might just match whatever we offer him. We could try to JJ Redick him and if they match make them a bit more financially unstable. xD To me, the dream is still Iggy though. He can play lockdown D and score when needed plus he can create his own shot or create for others. He might not be the best 3pt shooter, but I'm sure playing next to Rose, he'll be shooting more wide open 3s, which I think he can hit at a pretty good clip.

I don't know if Redick would've made us any better. He'd just be another Kyle Korver for us really...

Iggy is a 3, not a 2. We need a dedicated 2.

I'm pretty sure Iggy could play the 2 here. What's the lineup in Philly anyway? Holiday, Meeks, Iggy, Brand, Hawes? I'm pretty sure he could play the 2 there too. He played it for team USA and I think he's played it in the past (though I'm not totally sure) and at the very least, he has some experience playing it. We would make it work. The difference between the 2 and the 3 isn't that huge for players like him. In fact, the fact that he can play the 3 as well as he does is a bonus so we can give Deng a rest once in a while...

Eh...idk about that. I mean...I guess Redick can actually play defense (as opposed to trying to and failing miserably), but he doesn't really shoot any better than Korver. Their stats are pretty similar. I guess Redick is a bit more versatile offensively than Korver, but at the contract he has...I'd pass. That's just me though. Redick at 5 million though? Then I'd probably have to think harder about it.

Iggy's already on a Deng like deal, so he can't really demand anything for a few years. And by then depending on how the cap works, he might be willing to take a bit less to keep on winning. No way to tell for sure though, obviously.
