Darko would actually be a great pick-up for Miami by the way. He would be their best true center by default.

And Bosh wouldn't be the joke of the group anymore.

If we sign him the Houston's front office must be fired. 53mill for Lin and Asik! SICK.

So, they will have to be fired IF we sign Milicic? Bulls signing a player has nothing to do with it.
They are offering 53mil for Lin & Asik anyway and it's a stupid offer regardless what the Bulls do.

So I was thinking, let's just sign Eddy Curry, Tracy McGrady and Delonte West. Our Starters would be West, Rip, McGrady, Boozer and Curry, with Boozer and Deng out.

We'd be the all-crippled team.

i'd take my chances with darko possibly getting injured for 2 mil a year rather than overpaying for asik, who as far as we know could get injured himself

If the Bulls match Osik's offer from Houston, the entire front office needs to be fired! Wayyyyyyyy too much $$ for a 1 dimensional (defense) player!

I would love to see this kid SIMS, that is in the Summer league, pan out!

Ronny Turiaf would also be a solid pick up...He's very good defensively, he rebounds and he's smart with his shot selections.

Jordan Hill wouldn't be a bad pick up either....he's young and has size and athleticism.

If we sign him there is no chance of signing Asik for sure. 28mill for lin is overpay the player but you can live with this. 25 mill for Asik is stupid. And I hope the Bulls front office don't prove themselves more stupid than the Rockets front office. They pull a mastermind trick to steal Asik from the Bulls. lol. That must be included in the worst off season moves ever and they deserve a stupidity award for that.

lol Darko. He'd be a decent backup center. Still very poor offensively

:obama: What a horrific offseason. The fact that we're even talking about Darko Milicic and comparing his 'value' to Omer Asik proves that our FO is in a horrible spot right now. I understand it's hard to gauge the squad with Rose slated to miss a large majority of the season, but Jesus Christ, they had plenty of opportunities to make this team better. But here we are near the end of July and I'm forced to tell myself our best move has been drafting Marquis Teague.

Just shoot me now.

If we get Darko for the vet min which could make them not match Asik's offer, I'd argue that would be the best move we've made all off-season.

In terms of improving the team this off-season, what could we have realistically done? We didn't have the money to sign GOOD free agents. The older guys that took pay cuts, took pay cuts with championship contenders. The Bulls won't be competing for the title next season with all the question marks we have, and those guys want to win NOW. We don't have the trade assets that would work financially for most teams AND bring us back talent that we'd want. Sure, we could have shopped Deng and Noah to see what we could get for them... but it would probably make more sense to do that at the trade deadline or after next season when they have less years on their contracts and will be easier to trade.

Unrealistic idea: I think we should call up ORL, offer Deng and Noah for Howard + Turkoglu. Best case scenario is that Howard likes it in Chicago and signs an extension. Worst case is he leaves after the season, BUT we clear a **** ton of cap space... especially if we then amnesty Boozer next season. Shit, we'd be like 25 million under the cap at that point. :smug:

I personally don't know what the Bulls plan is either.. but I don't think they could have done much this off-season.

Darko is a decent back-up center. Make it happen.

lol at the possibility of LBJ, Darko, Bosh, and Wade all on the same team.

The 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th pick of the 2003 draft.

You either have a terrible sense of humor or are just ignorant.

Because Darko has been so great, yeah it'd be ironic but I think he sucks

Edit: for the right price though, he's better than Asiks contract. I still don't like him thoguh

Though Asik won't sign his three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet until likely Friday, more signs developed that his uniform will have "Rockets" on the front. Marc Cornstein, the agent for Darko Milicic, confirmed the Bulls have expressed interest in his client, who was a recent amnesty cut by the Timberwolves. League sources also indicated the Bulls are casting a wide net for other lower-salaried big men in free agency. Chicago Tribune

Though management isn't commenting publicly, these moves would suggest the Bulls won't match Asik's offer, which contains a so-called "poison pill" third-year salary of close to $14.9 million. The Rockets waived Jon Leuer and Jerome Jordan on Wednesday and will sign Asik to his offer sheet when those players clear the 48-hour waiver process. Chicago Tribune

They're making a great move in not matching Asik's deal. Rockets are going to be paying Asik and Lin $30 mil combined in the 3rd year of their deals :lmao:
