Is there anyone else worth mentioning at this point?

I think theres a few players worth mentioning but as far as best available, Barnes has got to be the guy. You still got Richard Jefferson out there i think but he will want too much money and probably too big of a role.

Barnes, Mason JR, Miller, Law. I would like it if we could fit these three guys in for the remaining 9M or however much we have.

He's a completely different player than Redick. Anyways, we need to put that in the past.

I just heard on ESPN1000 that The Bulls offered a 1st round pick for Rudy Fernandez and a future 2nd pick from Portland.

That'd be HUGE

Better defender, better mid range game. JJ is far and away the better 3pt shooter. But Brewer is the better athlete, slasher, defender, and has abetter all around scoring game. JJ is a bit 1 dimensional on the offensive end.

Interesting. So im assuming Portland declined it huh? Whos reporting this? It would be sick if they could still make that deal work. I heard that Portland also showed interest in Brewer. Could we use a new player in a S&T or would they have to be on the roster the year before?

JJ is smarter,better passer,much better shooter,more consistent

ok i give brewer on athleticism and defense and slashing

but JJ is the better scorer now

JJ was also arguably the most consistent player in the playoffs for the Magic and there's a reason why Orlando matched that offer

Redick and Korver as 3 point threats would have been nasty for the Bulls

I believe we can't trade Brewer for 30 days since its a new contract, I don't see why we would want too, just because Rudy might go to Spain and play for more money.

better passer
Disagree. Brewer has the edge IMO. Not that the assist sta is the end all be all but Brewer averaged around a full assist more per game than Redick did.

much better shooter
From 3pt range no doubt but Brewer shoots nearly 50% from the floor despite shooting in the 20's from 3.

Brewer is the better mid range shooter IMO.

but JJ is the better scorer now
Maybe...maybe not. Brewer had a down season last year and has averaged double digits points before. Redick hasn't touched that yet.

Did they say Portland turned down the offer? When did they extend the offer to Portland?

meh he was on a weaker grizz team that really doesnt have a pg....and brewer played 30 minutes per game to JJ's 22...Redick has really improved his passing game and he has great basketball IQ....

Redick takes alot more outside shots than Brewer does and Brewer attacks more so that's why i see the discrepancy in FG%...i think Redick and Brewer are pretty close in mid range tho JJ has a better stroke

Redick was close last year and didnt get much time on Orlando because he was on the bench unlike Brewer who started for the Jazz IIRC....Im pretty sure Redick averaged double figures in the playoffs...and I'd bet he is going to average double figures this year.....especially with the possibility of him being starter if/when vince carter gets outted

I don't remember, I only heard the part where they said the Bulls were one of a handful of teams interested, and supposedly made an offer.

Apples and Oranges. 2 different systems. Also, playing for Memphis shouldn't say much, because his role was different, and then he got hurt. Redick is good, but intangibles and defense, Brewer is the more natural fit.

Last year, VDN and Sloan had similar systems. High Pick offenses vs Princeton style. Redick will shine in a Corner/Princeton offense. Brewer will shine in a Pick/ISO. I REALLY have no clue as far as what Thibs will work on here, but I would say it's a fair assumption that he's going to use a lot of the HPR, just because thats what the current players know best.

Redick is more consistent than Brewer easy

and he plays respectable defense although Brewer is the better defender because of his length

and it kind of does matter when Redick gets significantly less PT than Brewer

meh w/e

i still would rather have Redick than Brewer

I thought that JJ would work well in Chi town because they needed 3 point shooters and they got Korver but he isnt going to be the starter and Redick seemed like a great fit at starting SG..but Orlando's system is good for JJ i admit..hopefully he starts and gets more time this year

I was always bigger on Brewer than JJ because of his defense and length. I never really saw JJR as a starter. I know he's shown progression in his overall game but im just not that big of a fan. I think its easier to become a better shooter than it is to have that sense of attacking the basket like Brewer does. I would like to see how he works off of Rose and its good that he's played with Boozer and KK. It helps with building chemistry with this new look team.

i understand what y'all are saying and Brewer is a good fit with the Bulls for a cheaper price...good signing

especially since Redick is off the board

i was defending redick because Bigp was being idiotic and saying Brewer is way better than redick
