meh he was on a weaker grizz team that really doesnt have a pg....and brewer played 30 minutes per game to JJ's 22...Redick has really improved his passing game and he has great basketball IQ....
Meh, Redick doesn't really get credit IMO for not being multifacieted enough etc to not play larger minutes. Brewer has at least proved he can be a dependable/steady NBA starter..Redick hasn't.

Redick takes alot more outside shots than Brewer does and Brewer attacks more so that's why i see the discrepancy in FG%...i think Redick and Brewer are pretty close in mid range tho JJ has a better stroke
Taking only 2 pt FG's into account(last season, a down year for Brewer and a career year for Redick) Brewer shoots better. 51%-47%.

For their careers Brewer and Redick for 2pt FG's are 54.7%-45.4% in favor of Brewer.

Redick having the better "stroke" doesn't make much sense in a way. Brewer is the better shooter when not beyond the 3pt arc.

Redick was close last year and didnt get much time on Orlando because he was on the bench unlike Brewer who started for the Jazz IIRC....Im pretty sure Redick averaged double figures in the playoffs...and I'd bet he is going to average double figures this year.....especially with the possibility of him being starter if/when vince carter gets outted

Redick average 7.5PPG in the playoffs last season.

Last season was also the only season where Brewer started and didn't average double digits(9.5PPG as a starter).

Overall Brewer is the better player.

Redick is the better shooter from 3 but as an all around player Brewer is the better player.

i understand what y'all are saying and Brewer is a good fit with the Bulls for a cheaper price...good signing

especially since Redick is off the board

i was defending redick because Bigp was being idiotic and saying Brewer is way better than redick

I dont think its idiotic to take that position, especially when you look at how we would match up with Miami. Even though Redick may be improved defensively, theres a legitimate fear of Wade eating him alive. Thats less of an issue with Brewer.

I'm not sure anyone is arguing Brewer is "much better" than Redick, I just think Brewer is a better all around player and has proved so.

Their per 36min(which I'm not a HUGE fan of the stat as in this case it can skew the stat for the player who didn't play as many minutes in a certain respect) for their careers. I mean is it really fair to I guess in a way punish Brewer in a comparison of the two because he's played 30+ MPG for the last two seasons and has averaged 29.9 MPG the last three seasons where as Redick just finally averaged over 20MPG for the first time in his career last season? Who's to say Redick doesn't become less effiecient as a player if he starts playing 10 more minutes per game as it leaves him on the floor longer in less adventageous positions than he was before from a matchup perspective etc.

JJ: 14.7PPG 3.2RPG 2.7APG 0.6SPG 0.0BPG on 42% shooting

RB: 14.2PPG 3.9RG 2.5APG 2.0SPG 0.4BPG on 52% shooting

I mean I guess take someone saying that Brewer is the better all around player as him being "much better" player but that wasn't really my point. I ws more alluding to the fact that for a starting SG Brewer is a better fit from the perspective of being able to do more things on the floor than Redick as a well rounded player. Redick is a great shooter from distance no doubt but after that he doesn't really do anything that well or all that much better than Brewer. Redick is the perfect 6th man IMO and a great bench piece but he's only started 14 games his entire career where as Brewer as been a starter for the better part of 2 1/2 seasons. Brewer offers you more as a player at this point in his career than Redick does and both have been in the NBA the same amount of time.

Brewer has at least proven to be a highly effiecient player as a starter in the NBA..Redick hasn't proven to be anything more than a nice bench piece as of yet.

Awesome! We got Brewer. Now let's get this bench filled out.

Brewer was a great signing in the money sense of it too.

Thats great, except you dont really have a rooting interest in the Bulls like a Bulls fan. And numerous Bulls fans are telling you theyd prefer Brewer. Youre rooting interest is in Duke. So, theres a bias there that isnt really tied to improving the Bulls as much as its to felatiating Duke love.

I would say that Brewer is all around more polished but I just like Redick more especially now...and there is no way in hell i would have said this last year or a couple of years ago..i dont like comparing career statistics because Redick sucked at the beginning of his career and also got little time..i think Redick is really coming into his own and will continue to improve...Redick's shooting and improving smart game is the reason i think/thought Redick is a better player to have...especially on a team like the Bulls that could use 3 point shooting...and no im not a huge Duke homer(maybe a little) however u dont see me saying Deng is better than Iggy or Duhon is a starting PG or anything like that...and Brewer kind of was a backup plan for Chi....atleast imo since Redick was offered first for a good amount

however Brewer is a very good fit for a cheap price...should be a good starter for the bulls

ETA:Btw....i think Orlando is intending on him being the starter next season...as long as they find a way to dump VC

My rooting interest in mainly in the spurs but I do like seeing former duke players doing welll and do root for them on their respective teams..and no im not a huge duke homer as i said i try to be objective even tho i do like what redick has become.....

i dont defend deng or duhon to heart because i know that some of the stuff that has been said about them is true

and alot of people on here wanted Redick on the bulls....and were disappointed when Orlando matched the offer...I see Brewer as the plan B for it atleast from the Bulls FO standpoint.....then again idk

Brewer is a good fit for a cheap price tho

In the end the Bulls could have gotten them both..plus I think the Bulls evalution of Redick was off. I think they were overvaluing him quite a bit for a guy who has never really been an NBA starter.

Did anyone catch what number Brewer is going to wear. He was 10 in school and 9 in the NBA, both of which aren't available.
