Noah with a career high in points.

21pts & 16rebs & 3blks for Jo right now. Could we have another player w/ a 20-20 game this year?

God, Derrick Rose is awful. I really hope he turns it around, but this kid is looking really bad so far this season, and I don't think it's the injuries either, as he doesn't look hindered at all out there. Could you imagine if we just stayed at 9? We might be a better team for it, as I think we would have kept Gordon, and had Joakim Noah as our starting power forward and Brook Lopez as our starting center.

I wouldn't say he's "jerked off some time while he's been here" necessarily. He wasn't as committed to working out after his rookie year, which I was disappointed in, but he was still there with constant effort every night. And he hates losing, probably even more than I do.

Agreed. From what i've seen (and heard) he's worked harder this offseason than just about anyone else on the team. Imo, he's been are best player so far (small sample size i know). honestly, I think he's my favorite bull. With no exception.

11 turnovers from our point guards, but Noah and Salmons were good enough to get the win anyway. 4-9 from three this game as a team which is a big improvement.

Wow Bulls won their third straight close game. This is what they didn´t last season. There were so many close games they lost. Nice hustle win again!

Noah was an absolute BEAST out there. I hope he keeps this up, or at the very least is this competitive every game.

Luol also had a quiet 11 boards. Good to see those kinds of rebounding numbers from him. Salmons finally showed up to play: 27 points 7 boards 6 assists 3 steals and a block. Good for my fantasy team :)

Who else had a flashback of the play against Pierce in game 6 when Noah started the fastbreak...It would of been nice to see him powerslam again, but the dime to Salmons was the right play.

I did. I really wanted to see him slam it and get another and 1. It would be almost like his signature move. But yeah, the pass to Salmons was the right play, so props to him for being a smart player on the break.

This is part about what I was harping on the people who were knocking Ben Gordon last year. Ben Gordon can only make so many heroic shots, the defense needs to step up to make those heroic shots matter.

And that is what the defense is doing this year. And it is all because of Joakim Noah, Brad Miller, and Luol Deng. Those are the three driving forces to our defense. Our defense has been DOMINANT. I'm sure we'll only be like 5th in defensive efficiency when the stats update in the morning, but if you take out the Celtics game, I'd imagine we're pretty close to #1. Joakim Noah has been amazing defensively this year. AMAZING.

Like me, and Fred have always said, interior defense is the difference between a good and bad defense in the NBA. The Bulls have great interior defense this year, and are great as a result.

One thing we saw in the Celtics series was they got a lot of second chances. With Noah now matching his elite offensive rebounding on the defensive end, and Deng back, we're hugely improved in that area so far.

I wouldn't put it all down to interior defense though. Compared to last year Rose is playing fewer minutes, Hughes and Noc are off the team, Salmons is on the team and Kirk & Deng are healthy. That's a much improved perimeter defensive mix too.

I'm just comparing the team to the second half last year, where we were still a poor interior defensive team.

The defense on the wing and in the interior stunk all last year, including the playoffs.

The backcourt's defense has improved over last year also. Every one is doing better on that side of the ball. The backcourt has to improve offensively...that is the problem.

Who needs an offense?

Let's face it, Rose(especially) and Hinrich were fairly bad on the offensive side. But at least the guards in general did a terrific defensive job.

Raymond Felton, Raja Bell, Ronald (Flip!) Murray, and D.J. Augustin shot a combined 11 for 43! That’s Larry Hughes-esque right there.
