Look Bulls fans, get a grip on yourselves.
Most of us do not like LeBron. Most of us did not want him to ever win a championship. Most of us don't like him for his decision. I would say a good majority of us don't like that he didn't come here.
That being said, LeBron is the best player in the NBA and he clearly demostrated it this series. He came through in the clutch in Games 2, 3, 4, and 5. He dominated Rose defensively all series long. None of the other players could do anything.
Rose needs help and we all realize that. What kind of help that is, I dont know. What stayed true in the NBA was talent trumps team. Many thought we as a team would win a title, but thats just a rarity in this league. The Bulls need another All-Star, simple as that. Luol Deng will never become one, Boozers best days are behind him, and I doubt Noah will ever stay injury free enough to become one, and has lost most of his offensive game he was developing after his hand injury. That injury has really set him back in my opinion.
That being said, I still would not have done a Carmelo trade unless it allowed us to keep Noah. To me you need a good interior defender in the paint and height. I did not want to have some old decrepted man like Erick Dampier (Who sits inactive on Miami's bench) as our center this year. I know many of you will disagree with me and shamble my viewpoint in anyway you can, but I'm sticking with what I think on that. He can have fun in New York with a coach who refuses to play defense that will never go anywhere in the playoffs. New York will be a force once they fire D'Antoni, but not until then.
And this is a learning experience for Rose. He'll come out more intelligent out of this and a stronger player because fo it. It is growing pains as a team. If the front office can get help for Rose then we can come back bigger and stronger, until then, this is an Eastern Conference Finals team and thats that. The only way I see us getting past Miami is if they get drunk off winning a title this year and simply do not compete well enough the following season.
We really overachieved this regular season while Miami underachieved. Miami had their own regular season growing pains, but now theyre coming together at the right time. If they played like this in the regular season they would have been the #1 seed. However, as is becoming the trend lately, the better teams seem to not bring it every night in the regular season and take plenty of nights off. They feel they can win it at anything of a #4 seed or higher. The Bulls brought it every night and overachieved because of it. Now I'm not saying we'll be a 60+ win regular season team again next year, but we'll be #2 for sure atleast. We all know Boston is dead, Orlando might lose Dwight, and no one else really can compete at that high of a level.
So all we can hope for is the front office pulls something, hopefully around draft time, though I imagine with a pending lockout, that teams will be reluctant to do anything big until after the lockout is settled.
