Could the Bulls vs Miami be the next big rivalry? Bulls seem to be built to give Miami problems.

Center that can own defensively Miami's whole front court? [Noah] Check.

PF that can own offensively Miami's whole front court? [Boozer] Check.

6-9 225 pound long SF that will give LeBron problems offensively? [Deng] Check.

Defensive minded hustling SG to guard Wade? [Brewer] Check.

Superstar PG who will abuse the Miami front-court? [Rose] Check.

6th Man to finish off the Miami Bench? [McGrady] Check?

Not only that it is build to give Miami serious problems but Noah and LeBron have some beef, neither Kurt Thomas or Tracy McGrady wanted to take part with the Heat, and the Bulls was the place everyone thought LeBron was coming to before the Miami incident.

Is this just me getting a tad bit over-excited or is this a potential rivalry?

Well, McGrady isn't coming to Chicago...so you're off there...But we have a helluva bench w/out him. We'll compete this year, for sure.

IMHO regardless of a rivalry with the Heat (which would be good)....

I'll always say our other 4 opposites in the division over anyone else.

Especially Milwaukee or Cleveland.

It will be as much a rivalry as Andy Roddick vs Roger Federer is.

Yeah Lebron had so many problems with the Bulls last season he averaged 26-8-8 against them in the regular season and 32-9-8 in the playoffs.....

Yeah Deng REALLY bothered him and gave him problems...

Defensive minded hustling SG to guard Wade? [Brewer] Check.
Because Wade has NEVER seen that before.

6th Man to finish off the Miami Bench? [McGrady] Check?
We don't have McGrady and he's not that damn good anyways.

imo its already been a rivalry since they got d wade. he is a chicago kid that tries to beat his hometown bulls every time he plays us.

He should start messin with the Bucks due to his Marquette roots. C'mon D-Wade. Help Chicago out. But seriously guy who wrote this(Los Bulls)...
You, like I, have all of the reason in the world to be jacked up about this Bulls team. They have a low post guy, and they got way better with their additions, but Brewer won't be a surprise for Wade, BOsh and Boozer will match up pretty evenly(Bosh with a bit more athleticism, Boozer with strength), Deng will need to get a lot better/quicker feet if he expects to guard 'Bron effectively. That leaves the bulls with alleged advantages in PG(Rose/Chalmers) and C/PF(Noah/Haslem/Sometimes Bosh).
Once again, it'll come down to which team gels the best and wants it more when they play, because it is a solid, fun matchup.

you know, chicago and miami have been rivals ever since like 06. the bulls got beat in the first round then brought back ben wallace for the sole purpose of stopping shaq. then we swept them. i think if you built your whole team around stopping one team and it works, i'd consider that a rivalry. plus then d-wade being from chicago has always made for exciting games. i know that division opponents are traditionally rivals, but i don't feel the same hatred for indiana or cleveland that i do for miami. my miami hatred is at least on par with the pistons and probably more than milwaukee.

Who cares about the division teams? Divisions in the NBA are the most pointless of all sports. It's not like football or baseball where it means something because you play your own division so much throughout the season. Who cares who is in our division if it means squat?

I just go on hating the teams I love to hate: Knicks, Pistons, Heat, etc.

I have a major dislike for Cleveland because of I'm from an area full of Cavs fans. Then it'd be Miami & Milwaukee for me.

That Heat team was a beat up shell of itself. Shaq was playing on practically one leg and D Wade was playing with one arm. The Bulls playoff "run" was one of the biggest jokes ever. They sweep an injured and marginal Heat team, then proceed to get their teeth kicked in by the Pistons for the better part of 6 games.

The Bulls didn't bring in Wallace to so much stop Shaq as they did because he was supposed to be the best free agent in the class and would provide leadership and a defensive stopper in the middle against anyone. On top of that Shaq still got 19-9 in that series against the Bulls anyways.

It wasn't so much the Bulls that "stopped" the Heat, it was the fact that the Heat's two best players were injured.

In 2007, the Bulls legitimately destroyed the Heat. Would they have still won that series even if Wade and Shaq were at 100%? I don't know, but it is very possible. But are the Bulls and Heat big rivals as of right now? Not really. I definitely think it's going to happen though.

Pepe Silva: i know what you mean. the main reason that division teams are rivals is just because they play four games a year against each other.

firsttimer: i never said that there was any legitimacy behind the winning, but we made moves to be able to beat the heat.

ramithebullsfan: i still get up for every game that we play against the heat, mostly cuz of the d-wade chicago thing. but i think it will only get more intense, which is great

I would really love to see this develop into a lasting rivalry. Especially if we're on the upper hand of it :shifty:
