I don't see how you can say Deng isn't playing hard.

Can anybody tell me what the hell James Johnson was doing out there? It's a absolute waste to play him at the small forward position.

I think it's time to tank for Xavier Henry. At this point, I don't want to sneak into the playoffs just to get steam rolled. This team fuggin sux!

+1

Anybody who is pissed off with Deng needs to get there head out of there ass. Dudes getting close to 20 and 10 on a consistent basis and nailing 3's every 2nd game

I agree 100%, JJ is not a small forward, he's a 4 and they need to stop wasting time with him at the 3.

It reminds me of Marcus Fizer and the delusion that he could also play the 3 next to Elton Brand. Waste of time. JJ is more capable than Fizer of playing the 3, but neither shouldn't be.

Funny Fred. I was just on the phone arguing with Mark about this. He's placing all the blame on Vinny, which granted when the players don't play up to a certain level the coach is the first to get the blame. However, I feel the blame lies almost solely on 2 people: Jerry Reinsdorf & Gar Foreman. Jerry for handcuffing Pax to the point of a nervous breakdown a season ago & not allowing him to get the coach he really wanted. And Gar, for wasting over $3mill in cap space on Hunter & Pargo. The Hunter signing was absolutely idiotic. Player-coach? Just make the damn guy an assistant if you really want him on the bench. Don't give him $1mill to take up a much needed roster spot. And then there's Pargo, or the Garbage Man as I love to call him. Why in the world would you sign this guy? He's straight up crap. End of story.

In the end Vinny will get the axe, because well he's not a good coach, but I feel most of the blame for this debacle of a season thus far is on the shoulders of Doorman & Scrooge McReinsdorf.

Your blaming Gar because of 2 bad signings c'mon. The problem is Vinny doesn't like to make adjustments. He keeps on running that stupid ass pick n roll which is cutting off all the lanes for Rose to work with

I completely agree with you. Vinny didn't miss the 8 free throws tonight. Don't get me wrong, I think he sucks as a coach, but I blame the organization for hiring him. You simply cannot hire a guy like him in Chicago. If it's Oklahoma City or Charlotte...fine. Not Chicago. You need a coach with some experience, even if it's assistant experience.

So who should I blame? He's the GM isn't he, or did I miss something? I'm blaming Gar for dumping $3mill into 2 useless shlubs who were useless before the season, & are equally as useless now. With the way the economy is you have to be smart with your money & those were not smart signings, so YES I AM BLAMING GAR.

But don't get me wrong, I think Vinny is a horrendous coach. I said that all of last year & repeated it again this year. And yes he deserves blame, namely for his horrible rotations & lack of any offensive creativity. But he didn't leave the team with only 12 players on the roster (Jerome James does not count), or throw millions into a brokedown has-been & a brokedown never-was. We technically have only 7 fully healthy serviceable players right now, (the starting 5, plus Miller & Johnson), that's it. Pargo is injured, but playing not like it really matters, Hunter can't play many minutes & is more than likely hobbled right now, & Gray is nowhere near game shape. Add to that the fact that Salmons has been woefully inconsistent, as was Tyrus before the inury, & Kirk was piss poor on offense before his injury too, plus Rose has been playing like a va-jayjay up until last week, I'm not surprised by what is happening right now. Vinny can't control these things. All he can control is his offensive & defensive system & making sure his players are prepared & motivated for each game. But he's failed in all 3 of these aspects so I say show him the door.

The Nets were 3-20 from the 3-point line tonight...and we lost to them. Then again, we were for 4-12. 33% isn't going to cut it.

You hit a homer with this one. Johnson couldn't guard 3's in the ACC. How the heck is he going to guard anyone but Luol Deng in the NBA?

We outrebounded them, had more assists, & shot better from the field. This game was lost with silly turnovers & missed FT's. And John Salmons ridiculously stupid idea to shoot a 3 with 7 SECONDS LEFT!!! :angry:

My problem is that Vinny does nothing to change with either his offensive or defensive sets. He basically cost us the game by deciding to play Pargo for good 10 minutes straight. Sure his roster might not be the greatest, but given this is the easiest month I don't get how there going to win more than 2 games this month. The thing that pisses me off the most though is he's taken away the best thing the team does, which is run, run, and run.

Vinny will undoubtedly be fired soon. In all likelihood we will drop 3 of our 4 next games. And I'm not really sure if we can match up offensively with Golden State or New York either, so this may turn into a giant losing streak.

I think the big question is what does Vinny do when he is fired. I hope he calls out management/ownership for letting Gordon walk.

I don't think Vinny is a good coach, but he's not horrible either. He's just average for the most part. An average coach with a roster lacking talent for the most part, but a roster that is poorly constructed to be a cohesive team on top of that is going to sink any average coach.

I don't know what the use of firing Vinny will be though. We will have Ociepka or Bickerstaff for the rest of the year. It's not like we'll be signing Avery Johnson or Jeff Van Gundy to be our next coach...those guys cost too much money. We'll just end up with someone who is as bad as Vinny, and maybe worse.

===============================

After a timeout, the Bulls again had a chance to go back on top, but John Salmons missed a three-pointer, giving the ball back to New Jersey with 7.1 seconds left.

That wasn't the first option on the play.

''Get the ball to Derrick at the top and let him go at the rim similar to what he did on the play before,'' Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said of the play he wanted. ''[The Nets] overplayed it a little bit. It didn't look like we set very good screens, and we gave up on that and went to option B.''

Del Negro was asked if his job security was an issue now.

''I go to work every day and do the best to try and develop these guys,'' he said.

''Those are questions for [the front office]. We're fighting with what we have. We'll keep on fighting. Those decisions aren't up to me.''
=================================

At least we know what happened on that play now. However option b should've been a better option b. Salmons 3pt shot would be understandable if time was running out but with 7 seconds left he should know better, at least try and take it to the hole

I blame management and Reinsdorf. Some of it lies on VDN and players, but with lack of depth and lack of decent signings to make up for the lack of depth, what could any coach do?

Oh me. Oh my...

Either Kiki Vandeweghe is the greatest coach in the history of sports (going 2-0 with the 0-18 Nets) or the Bulls gotsa clean house...

Fire sale anyone?

Nets still have Devin Harris and Brook Lopez, and Chris Douglas-Roberts who has played well all year. The team has potential to win games imo.
