I would think Sharp, Bolland, Dowell, Johnson would be your Centers tonight.

Kopecky is just not a good Center please don't put him there.

Toews missed 6 games last year with his Willie Mitchell concussion so hopefully we'll be fine.

The Hawks record with Toews out of the lineup the last few seasons is....abysmal. This may be the stretch of the season that knocks us out of the playoffs if we cannot step up without him. Sharks, Kings, Dallas, Colorado, Nashville twice? Thank god for the two Eastern Conference games thrown in there.

6 games Toews missed last year, starting with the Canucks in which he was knocked out. Literally...

3-2-1

I wouldn't say thats abysmal. 3 on the road 0-2-1

the year before he didn't miss any games and the year before that the team was still finding itself where he and Kane were rookies.

I don't think you have enough sample size to say Abysmal.

Well, I was referring to the substantial time he missed his rookie season where the Hawks played like .200 hockey, but whatever. We also had MUCH more depth last year... The roster this season is very similiar to the roster his rookie season as far as depth is concerned. I won't lie, I'm worried.

well look at the team he was playing on!!!!!

As for the roster this season really? Hossa, Kane, Sharp on fire... I don't buy that either. If they fall apart because Toews is out they SUCK and don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

I'm not worried. And I used the same time he missed last year to what he's expected to miss this year. This team is FAR different than the one in Toews and Kane's rookie year.

I guess we'll see what their record is when he returns. I'd love to be wrong on this one, I really would.

Like I said if you are right and they completely fold, there is a problem and they don't derserve to be there either way. They didn't fall apart while Hossa and Kane were out and I will say JT didn't exactly light anything up either.

Are they as good without him, no. Primarily because of the position he plays and the lack of depth at said position. THat said if they can't rise to the occassion they don't have an excuse.

Funny the Wings are mising Cleary their top goal scorer and Datsuck their most proliphic player and they are ticking right along.

Wings don't have half a team of rookies and washed up NHL players on their roster either. Toews is our #1 center and we have terrible center depth. I mean, it's so bad Kopecky will be playing center tonight. That's my concern.

Oh, and in the time Hossa and Kane were out... Toews put up more than a point per game. Ten points in seven games where we had no Kane or Hossa and he wasn't lighting anything up?

Sharp is on fire. How many assists on Sharps goals. Whistle all you want I don't buy it. Just another excuse.

You sure Kopecky is at Center? There are four other possible Centers there?

Stop worrying! Look what this team just did without Kane and Hossa, yes JT is the leader, our core needs to step up with the intensity and play to their ability and this team will be fine.

I'm not as worried about Toews not being there, as I am the rest of the team not showing up like in St. Louis.

Without Toews, the chances of the team not showing up are much higher.

I can't agree with that. Toews brings a level of leadership to the table that is unmatched; however, I think the team can pull together and get the job done. They did it without Hossa, without Campbell, without Kane. They can bring their A game, but it seems like this year they just don't have their heads in it.

I don't think it's a problem with skill. It's a problem with motivation. I agree they WILL lose that fire they get from Toews, but hopefully some other guys can step up.

Toews could be back sooner than the two weeks.

Lets all pray. Collectively....

YIKES don't open up that can, deciding who are the hockey gods could be a more heated debate than the religion thread.

Can we take a vote who'll be the Hockey deity?

Toews is making the trip oot west.

Not sure if he'll play, but he's on the ice today.

Day to Day.

I posted in the GDT that when I spoke with him he didn't think he'd miss that much time. He made the "fathers trip" as well but could not pass the Concussion test to get back in the game. He was on the trip though.
