Kuma's (near woodfield mall) - Absolutely the best, hands down. Thick ass patty! And they have a decent whiskey menu.

Au Cheval (chicago) - OVERRATED!! Thin ass patties (they give you 2 for a single burger) Went there twice just to make sure it still sucked. First time the wait was 4 hours, second time 2 hours. I don't know what all the fuss is... French fries and garlic sauce is good though.

North Branch (glenview) - Surprisingly good burgers for a neighborhood pizza pub.

I know it is a chain of sorts and known more for the 120 beers on tap than the food, but The Yardhouse has some good burgers.

Also Goodstuff Eatery downtown.... great burgers.

Yeah, yardhouse does have good burgers and you are right about their beer menu. It's crazy.
I should check out Goodstuff Eatery. Their prices are nice.

Spike's Sunnyside burger is what I always get at GSE... make sure to grab some chipotle mayo for dipping.

Been to Au Cheval a couple of times. Not being a fan of thick patties, too often raw in the middle, I like Au Cheval. As long as there is ample meat, I don’t have an issue with the number of patties. The wait is a ***** but not if you get there when they open. Their fried bologna is great and their Sunday brunch menu is also very nice; recommend the foie gras and scrambled eggs.

Seven Lions burger, which I loved in he past, doesn’t seem to be what it used to be.

That area off Randolph where Au Cheval is just does insane business. You could put a McDonald's there and the wait would probably be 30 minutes.

Kuma's all the way though. The atmosphere is better and the food is better.

Out here we have Bubbas 33 it is a good bar for a burger. They do the bacon mixed in and then a bunch of different burgers to choose from.

There is also a long running contest each year at the state fair for the best Green Chile Cheeseburger. If you ever find yourself in New Mexico do yourself a favor and get one, from pretty much anywhere. Green Chile Cheese Burgers are the fucking bomb.

If I have time after Roswell I'll be sure to do that, thanks for the advice.
