If I remember correctly this was a guy Nagy just had to have. Whatever, he was average most of the time. Had a penchant for getting beat in the red zone I thought though. Obviously was on the outs when looked at his cap figure. Massie will be gone very soon too I would reckon.

Yeah this is kinda how I feel. An average nickel corner wasn't worth a veteran contract for the Bears. Still, he wasn't entirely awful like Robert Quinn has been so far.

Didn't he cause a lot of penalties? He was overly aggressive it seemed at times.

actually he toned down his penalties that he was known for......he typically was getting 6-10 penalties a year with CLE.

I think he had 7 in 2 years with the Bears

Bears fans are a little spoiled with cornerbacks recently. Fuller/Amukamara were both very good and then this year Jaylon Johnson and Kindle Vildor were not really any sort of meaningful dropoff from Amukamara. For most teams is a hard position to adequately fill with a good player. Its not quite on the level of edge rusher or left tackle but its still a premium position due the scarcity of guys who can really play it well.

He played really well in 2019 and fell apart in 2020.
