Why are you a Bears fan if you can't even pretend to have hope any more? Why hang out insisting on torturing those who can have hope.
There's 31 other teams out there you could follow instead and no laws tying you to being a Bears fan.

If you can't have hope about Williams what exactly can you have hope about with this team? Are you hanging around hoping the NFL goes back to leather helmets and allowing defense again?
Maybe you're hoping for Rollerball type snuff games.
Neither are likely to happen in our lifetimes.

yawn

Go take it up with the reporters who were throwing around "generational" years ago. The troll schtick is getting old here.
Weren’t you bitching that posters were upset not to long ago? Maybe you should remove yourself if the negativity is hurting you mentally?

Where did I say it was hurting me, mentally or otherwise?

I said yawn meaning the schtick is old and boring.

Same BS I get when I mention the posters who say anyone can play oline but it takes top 10 talent to be defense so all 1st round BPA are automatically defense, where area all these generational posters??? I remember 1 fanboy and since my ignore list is 99% rookie QB trolls I doubt if any of them were being pre-draft fanboys.

So far I'm offended and hurt all in the imaginations of a couple people who are obviously trolling.

Please😒 you got butthurt when posters criticize the number 1 draft pick in a few threads back saying shit like “ What’s the point of posting” and “ why critique him now? There’s no point”. Caleb has earned his criticism by playing like ass the past few games and it’s sad you ignore those who point that out

We've got zero points in the first half in the last 3 games, saying shits bad is just honest. We need this dude to play better but if you go on Twitter he's got an army of people who can't see him doing any wrong - it's weird as hell.

The reality is the same reasons people gave to keep Justin are being used to justify Caleb's play now but Caleb was sold as a transcendent talent - but he's not transcending this situation in the slightest.

It always starts this way. We get a rookie QB, beg for him to start right away, he struggles and we see the major flaws in the team but some ignore the obvious ones in the QB, the team sucks but we are hopeful for next year.

Next year comes, the QB kinda improves but not at a high and sometimes lofty expectations. The detractors get louder and the team does nothing again.

Year three comes and almost everyone expects pro bowl level play but it doesn’t come and everyone turns on the QB but a few regardless on how the team is playing. Talks grow louder on the bears getting another QB

Year four comes and the bears don’t pick up the QB option, team struggles and we’re off to find a new QB

Williams hasn't earned shit except about 25% of $25 million and a big signing bonus like any #1 rookie QB would get.
He's a rookie and the team sucks. The team has sucked for what, the last 29 some QBs over the last 38 years? But you're right, it was all up to the only #1 ROOKIE QB the Bears have ever drafted to turn this team around because you got yourself butthurt because some reporters and probably Caleb's dad called him generational for years.
You bought into the hype and now you're angry. Want some of my ba-ba?

What's sad is those QB trolls are nothing new and have been the usual troll on this forum that has been allowed to play out for the 12 years I've been here and it's never a problem that it's the same trolls saying the same things about every rookie QB but only if they're Bears QBs.
Not surprising since trolling in encouraged here, even the mods do it. Just sad.

It's weird that people didn't want to fix the problem when Fields was the QB because they were afraid he would work out and stay.

It's definitely different people giving those excuses because the Fields stans are quick to point it out to the people who thought Williams was going to be the savior and Fields was the only problem.

Same problem for 39 years. Trying to do the same thing isn't going to fix it ever.
Of course the same excuses happen because the same excuses were never fixed.
It's not going to matter if it's Williams, Fields, Trubisky, Cutler, Orton, Grossman or any other of the million starting QBs for the Bears you can think of. QB alone isn't going to fix it.
More beef block or 39 years suck.

I guess most Bears fans just want to suck for 39 more years.

One thing I think is weird is that under Poles' "leadership", the Bears have had two double-digit losing streaks....yet people still think he should remain GM. The bar is so low for Bear expectations that its almost a problem in itself.

Caleb Williams kind of sucks so far, yet people are in denial. Some idiots are even bringing up high school scouting reports to justify Caleb's 'inevitable' improvement....its like a bunch of battered women are posting in this forum.

How does me asking why bother being a Bears FAN if you're just going to play the odds about rookie QB predictions equal me being offended?
How does that even make any sense?

No QB means this team isn't worth being a fan of. If you're playing the odds of QBs failing with no blind meatball hopes why do you bother following the team at all? Those meatball hopes are all this loser team has.

I'm only still here because of Williams and that hope is waning fast. I had no cares about missing last week's game like I had no cares about forgetting it was Sunday for most of last year's games.

Why do you bother? I'm not planning on it. Give me another 5 years of Rex Grossman is our QB and I'm out until he's not.
If I would really wise up I'd just be gone in spite of the new carrot/QB they dangle on sticks every few years and just be gone until the team is sold.
So you’re a fairweather fan, cool got it

Cool. They also went 7-6 with Justin Fields to end the season last year. They also won a Super Bowl with Jim McMahon. They also made the title game with rookie Chuckin' Charlie O'Rourke in 1942.

I'm thinking Caleb Williams' performance this year is a bigger issue to the 2024 Bears than anything done in the past by other QBs.
They would have made the playoffs last season with less talent than this season, if Eberflus would not have lost us three games that we were leading in the 4th quarter (Denver, Detroit, and Cleveland).

We added more talent this season and are already eliminated from the playoffs.

It’s been happening all season long, but too many fans and local media personalities ignore it because they don’t want to admit they were wrong about him being a generational quarterback.
It's more that his accuracy wasn't an issue in college. I just think it's a symptom of the Bears failing yet another talented QB. There was a time when the Bears essentially ignored the position, which is why they couldn't get a good one. We can't say that anymore. Cutler/Mitch/Fields/Caleb are all extremely talented and all have the exact same issues essentially. Bears probably already fucked up Caleb by doing the Bears thing and not coming in with a clean slate to start the season. Just had to keep milquetoast as HC
