Can anyone honestly look at the rosters of the 4 Championship teams that competed to be in the Super Bowl, and think we're only a Caleb Williams away?

Because I really want to get the pulse on this.

This isn't about Caleb Williams vs Justin Fields, so if you want to turn it into one of those threads, **** you.

Just objectively tell me, in your opinion, do you really think all this roster is missing is Caleb Williams and off we go to the Super Bowl?

Because that's how a lot of you guys are talking, and when I compare the Bears' roster to the 49ers, Lions, Chiefs and Ravens and shit, even the Packers, the Bears still have some significant holes.

And the reason I even bring this up, is because I suspect the same people who will say "well, even with Williams, of course the Bears have holes that need to be filled before we can compete for a Super Bowl) were some of the same people looking at CJ Stroud and using him as justification for drafting Williams, because somehow a magical QB can just carry people to Super Bowls, even though CJ Stroud did NOT do that for his team, and got absolutely SMOKED when playing a legit team in the Ravens.

So which is it? Pick a lane.

Because those of us who want the haul, see an opportunity to close a 2-3 year talent gap in a single draft with the picks and players we'd be getting back, plus see a San Fransisco team that almost won a Super Bowl with a QB who wasn't exactly God's gift to quarterbacking.

The Bears still need a lot, including 3 new OL (LT, G, C) and 2 new WRs for starters. But, this much is perfectly clear to me, I saw enough great QB play in the playoffs and SB to know our Fourth Quarter Failure QB would never be able to lead the Bears to a SB win. Purdy and Mahomes had to stage many comeback wins this season Fields would never be able to do. The Bears need a huge upgrade at QB too. I believe Poles knows that. Welcome to CHI Caleb!!!

The Bears have a ton of cap space and 2 first round picks this year and 2 seconds next year.

So your premise is flawed and bullshit. No one has claimed we are only a Caleb Williams away from a SB. We have the resources to add a QB and several other potentially good players this offseason.

How about a winning season and possibly playoffs before thinking of winning a Superbowl mkay?

How about no and **** you.

I want a team that can compete for Super Bowls, not some perennial playoff fodder for better teams.

Brock Purdy is an average NFL QB who managed the game well and was smart enough to let his playmakers make plays, and resisted the temptation to play hero ball. Just speaking truth.

If the Bears don't take Caleb and instead get a haul and bridge that talent gap in a season for everything but the QB, do you believe there will never be a great QB in the draft ever again? As in now that Williams is gone, no college QB will ever be worth taking? That none of the QBs taken in the years after Caleb Williams will ever amount to anything in the NFL?

Caleb Williams lives rent free in your head.

Obsessed.

Did the Chiefs offense look so great last night? Their offense looked putrid for most of the game. Actually got sparked by a punt return screw up by San Fran. They do not have better receivers than the Bears. Their offensive line looks no better.

They won on defense and a QB that makes things happen late in games.

The 49ers have a LOADED roster, they lost because the other team, that just so happens to not have a LOADED roster, won with the generational QB.

You have to be really stupid not to see/not understand this.

I would argue you have to be really fucking stupid not to see that the Chiefs have a really damn fucking good offensive and defensive line.

Sorry, but Purdy is WAY better than Fields having far superior skills at reading the field and going through his progressions. Look at all the clutch come from behind wins too.
