Can anyone honestly look at the rosters of the 4 Championship teams that competed to be in the Super Bowl, and think we're only a Caleb Williams away?

The team needs a huge upgrade at QB for that to happen. It will not happen with Fields.
So you are now illiterate too huh.

Or did you just skip over literally the second line in the post?

This is what I wanted to confirm - how many of the Caleb people are actually capable of thought and how many are just programmed robots like you.

It's a legitimate question. If you're calling that a straw man argument when it's just a question and not even an argument yet, frankly that tells me all I need to know about you. I'll put you down in the column as one of the unthinking robots.

No one has said we only need Caleb Williams to get to the superbowl. No one.

He will find that one asshole who said it though. 😂

I’ve learned on CCS there is always that one guy.

People like to hide behind this. But look at how the people who are arguing for Caleb Williams are acting. Look how many of you guys propped up CJ Stroud.

You guys act like as long as you don't literally say the exact words That we can just ignore your actions and your past posts and past behaviors As if it's impossible to infer what you guys believe from those.

I hate to break it to you, but when you have a track record of certain posts, it's pretty damn easy to infer what you think even if you're not being honest about it.

I have a track record or certain posts? Of basically wanting to upgrade the QB position?

Infer whatever you want. I try to stick to actual quotes.

The thing is, people try to hide and dodge here to win pissing contests, and I try to hold them to their actual stances.

Case in point - back when the Texans were in the playoffs, some of the same people who are now saying "no one said Caleb Williams alone will get the Bears to the Super Bowl" were replying to people who wanted to trade the #1 pick for a haul with "See, CJ Stroud won a playoff game and he doesn't have good players or coaches!"

And now, because its a few weeks later, we're supposed to pretend they didn't make those arguments because NOW its more convenient when called out to say "No one said that about Caleb Williams" when they literally were making that exact argument when Stroud won a playoff game, and used that as a rebuttal to the "haul" people?

This isn't some crazy conspiracy theory - this is basic inference 101.

The Caleb crowd moves the goalposts wherever its convenient for them at the moment. They are getting testy because I am pinning them down.

I'll respect anyone who can flat admit the Bears need a lot more help than just Williams to get to a Super Bowl without getting defensive, even if they are in favor of drafting Williams.

But the ones getting angry? They're showing their true colors here as Caleb-bots...

Brock Purdy is an average NFL QB who managed the game well and was smart enough to let his playmakers make plays, and resisted the temptation to play hero ball. Just speaking truth.

If the Bears don't take Caleb and instead get a haul and bridge that talent gap in a season for everything but the QB, do you believe there will never be a great QB in the draft ever again? As in now that Williams is gone, no college QB will ever be worth taking? That none of the QBs taken in the years after Caleb Williams will ever amount to anything in the NFL?

And the average QB didn't win did he? Average QBs don't win Super Bowls. You're the one claiming you want to win championships and not have a perennial one and done in the playoffs... Nearly every Super Bowl in the last three decades was won by a HOF QB or QB who will eventually be in the HOF.

So which is it? You want to build the roster out and "compete" with a guy who throws barely 1 touchdown per game on average and is quite possibly the least clutch QB in the league or do you want to end this stupid ass cycle of mediocrity and go for a championship?

I did say in my post they need 1-2 WRs, a new LT, G, and C. No doubt they also need a new FS on D and another DT and DE. But, that said, the most important upgrade needs to be at QB. Without far better play there, there is only mediocrity long term.

I would argue you have to be really fucking stupid not to see that the Chiefs have a really damn fucking good offensive and defensive line.
Your problem is you making the QB vs rest of the team mutually exclusive. You can do both and the entire philosophy of the QB window is the idea making that easier. I don't entirely agree with that because you can still do it with a top QB salary as is proven in almost every SB winning team, which is the goal. Chiefs OL is considered mid pack and something you can get to without compromising the QB position in any way. Oh, and WR group is considered quite weak but they still score points. I think their RB is very average, The have Mahomes and Kelce.
