Are you really this dumb. Talent less NFL QB. OK Someone at Halas Hall disagrees with you. . And why bring up his skin color??? We know why.
I agree with you there. Only an absolute mouth breather thinks he's "talentless." He's a backup QB with 4 starts.

I did think his velocity was a problem, IF he was ever going to be a starter. Outside of negligible improvements it's going to be an issue for him.

You assholes can't answer a simple question without acting like children. It's pathetic and expected. None of you act like this IRL.
Why ask it now after it's already been discussed more than once. Where were you going before getting deflected? Need a cookie?

It’ll be funny when his talentless self isn’t in the league in a couple years. And it got brought up cuz we all know you wouldn’t be caping for him if he wasn’t white

yes. This next off season will be his first with a professional level weight program. Working on legs, core and complementary shoulder muscles will all help "arm strength". I don't know what will be the results, but I would think he is more likely to see progress in this area in years 1-2 more than any other qb in the league because of where he played in college. I also think professional coaching will help in the off season. Supposedly he saw great progress in the coaching clinics last off season

Oh, I 100% do. I am a tremendous jackass.

That being said, isn't it funny that Bagent has a Macaroni Jones-esque noodle arm, yet his dad is a 27-time arm wrestling world champion? Bag boy bag boy!

Also, I like Bagent for what he is. He's a decent young backup.

Bagent = career backup

With that said, and I am no QB expert, nor do I share random tweets from nobodies to try to prove a point, but I was very impressed with:

* his footwork
* his ability to step up into and navigate from inside the pocket
* how quickly he processes and goes through his progressions

You really think a kid who played thousands of snaps in college is going to suddenly develop “arm strength” in two years? His velocity is shit. It’s why he wasn’t drafted. So the bears who are notoriously bad at developing quarterbacks are going to figure it out with bagent?

The fix is: there was a quarterback with a weak arm, and the fix was: T-R-E-N-B-O -L-O-N-E was it’s name-o.

Bagent = career backup and there’s nothing wrong with that.

It’s a testament to how good he actually looked (considering his pedigree) that so many here want to ridicule the kid. Only the most defensive Fields fanboys refuse to lay down their arms against the onslaught of criticism (brought on by Fields’s middling play itself) and give the kid credit for looking like a professional out there and give the Bears credit for thinking outside the box and hitting on a credible NFL backup.

Plenty of guys without prime physical tools have had long and successful NFL careers because they’ve mastered the nuances of the game, such as the ones noted by the DeerBrinker. I don’t understand the Bagent hate. He’s not a starter, and he isn’t any threat to Fields (other than making him look suspect for not mastering the fundamentals), but he appears to have a bright NFL future ahead of him. Only jealous trolls would mock that instead of giving the kid the credit he’s due for his hard work and perseverance.

From what he showed, I’ll take Bagent coming in in emergency situations over Matt Barkley, Nathan Peterman, or any of the other ciphers the Bears have anointed QB2 over the last decade. Who’s better?

He’s a career backup most likely. Can he spot a few games? Sure but the offense will be extremely limited. He will never be a player you feel great about if he has to start for an extended period of time

Nobody knows if he's legit but yes he can easily improve his velocity with a simple mechanics change. Not sure he wants what would come with that so we'll see if he can stay on his toes and find more leverage. Likely a career backup but not a given and it would also be nice to have one that isn't a journeyman.
Thanks for giving a legitimate response that I thought was a good question by the OP. Agreed with mechanics. Sounds like something that is easier said than done though. The Bears have this kid for pennies on the dollar there is no reason they could not just keep him for another year or 2 at 3rd string. They will know in practice if he can improve his arm strength or not.

Bearly gave a good response. You didn't try to bait or provoke people by saying anything about him starting or being better than what we currently have. Truth is though that the people that still really like Fields are extremely threatened by literally any QB that is brought up.
