I did think his velocity was a problem, IF he was ever going to be a starter. Outside of negligible improvements it's going to be an issue for him.
He is SF Purdy level QB. I bet, given one full offseason to work on his shortcoming he will have long, successful NFL career as backup/occasional starter..

You assholes can't answer a simple question without acting like children. It's pathetic and expected. None of you act like this IRL.
The answer is "yes, he can". If Homer Simpson can do it on his own,

Tyson can do it with the help of his father, an ARM wrestling champion, at his side for however many off-seasons required.

Whether that helps him to become a good NFL QB or not is a whole other question.

lmao his father has been the arm wrestling champion for a long time...if tyson hasnt picked up on any arm strengthening tips from him by now, what makes you think hes suddenly going to?

Tyson's concentration was being an FCS QB. If his father lets him focus on the weak arm, I am sure that Tyson can end up with a much stronger arm. If there is an expert added to have him concentrate on the more important muscles to help his NFL arm strength, he can improve.

How long that takes is an unknown. Most rookie QBs naturally end up with stronger arms after a few seasons and they are not laser focused on building up the arm strength as much as his father would be. We are talking about arm strength boot camp, not some tips.

As for how he ends up in the NFL, I never said he was going to be a star, just have a stronger arm.

He may end up as the "bag boi bag boi" with the strongest right arm in bag boi history, easily shoving 10 pounds of food into your 5 pound sacks.

yes. This next off season will be his first with a professional level weight program. Working on legs, core and complementary shoulder muscles will all help "arm strength". I don't know what will be the results, but I would think he is more likely to see progress in this area in years 1-2 more than any other qb in the league because of where he played in college. I also think professional coaching will help in the off season. Supposedly he saw great progress in the coaching clinics last off season
What's amazing to me is that many posters think that this isn't a possibility.....it something to think about and see where the so called 'bagboi's' performance will be next season.....if he does build arm strength, then JF is bye-bye for sure.....when it comes to decision making & processing a play, 'bagboi' DESTROYS JF's "ability" to do so. Or I should say, his 'so-called' "ability." btw...I'm curious to know what JF's 4th quarter QB rating with da Bears leading. Inquiry minds want to know? Again, he did not look good...but I'll take the win...loved that 250 yards rushing, for sure.

Bearly gave a good response. You didn't try to bait or provoke people by saying anything about him starting or being better than what we currently have. Truth is though that the people that still really like Fields are extremely threatened by literally any QB that is brought up.
He definitely said that Bagent could be a starter and that right there is incorrect. As far as your second statement is concerned it’s the one who doesn’t like fields constantly bringing him up in conversations or making a million threads

Are you getting paid per quotation mark and period? lol This is a wild read.

Tyson's thrown 6 interceptions to 3 TD passes. Not all of those were the result of terrible arm strength from my recollection. Admittedly, I'd rather watch paint dry than go back and watch a Tyson Bagent led game again, so I'm operating off of memory here. Either way, Bagent didn't exemplify starting quarterback-level proficiency at the QB position, but he does look to be a quality backup. What I'm getting at is that Bagent isn't the model of quarterback perfection with the only deficiency in his game being possessing the proverbial 'noodle arm.'

He said backup and could be a starter at some point. There is nothing crazy about that statement. That is what all backups hope to be. Reliable when called upon and hopefully a team sees enough to give them an opportunity.

Regardless of if the poster likes Fields or not, this is a perfectly acceptable opinion to have on Bagent who was not even supposed to make the roster. No one said he was taking Fields job this year or being the starter next year. Everyone knows they will either draft a QB to start or stick with Fields.

He’s fine rather draft another QB in the middle rounds to sit behind the starter whoever that may be.

this staff never sets ceilings. He was 2-2 prior to the Sweat acquisitions. He has a super quick release. Doesn’t get sacked. Spreads the ball around. He’s had one bad quarter. Sees the field and makes up his mind. He could go far his second year

Could be a starter at some point is unrealistic as well and of course anyone can have an opinion but as he stated his I’m stating mine that his is stupid as hell. Again the main people who mention Fields when Bagent was starting are those wanting to move on from him. Anyone who was realistic saw the only thing Bagent did well was take less sacks (which Fields is doing now too)

Don't fall into the same trap of pitting Fields and Bagent against each other, Mr. PiB. It seems like you're skirting close by minimizing Bagent's contributions. He did win 2 games. So I choose to give him credit for what he accomplished and be happy for him, and for the Bears, who might have found a second- or third-string backup to tinker with.

I do agree with the sentiment, though; anyone who thinks Bagent can start consistently in the NFL is probably still a bit giddy about the nice story The Kid turned into. Bagent's last two starts especially exposed his shortcomings. Knowing what I've come to know about Bagent's mindset, he'll use what he learned in those starts to try to mitigate his shortcomings. And someday, he may play the hero coming in towards the end of the season and winning a few games, maybe even a playoff game. Nothing wrong with rooting for that. But he's probably not a starter, fellas . . .

The Tyson Bagent thing is so odd. What did he show that everyone is so in love with? He doesn't take a bunch of sacks, very cool. He also turns the ball over twice as much as he punches it into the endzone and he has no accurate velocity.

Him and his dumb story just came at the perfect time when the defense started to put it together. He got a couple wins when the team and fanbase were starving for them. But i dont see anything from him that you dont see from a bunch of other bad backup QBs.

Next year this team needs a legitimate veteran QB to mentor who i assume will be Williams. Build a real QB room. Bucatini Bagent can get back to mudding with his meth mouth daddy.
