Too bad the Bears have a player with the highest cap hit in the NFL on the team.

Quit with the meatball parade already.
First of all, the Bears can snap their fingers and they won't have a player with the highest cap hit in the NFL anymore.
Secondly, where the hell you spending all this money saved from Cutler's cap hit or restructuring? Maybe they could have spent more of it a few days ago if they didn't have Cutler's contract....but that would have just created another position to fill, and the most important one.
. With a QB whisperer as HC, I'm still perplexed why the Bears QB has to carry the highest cap hit in the NFL.
But that is just it, he doesn't HAVE to carry the highest cap hit, the Bears are choosing to make it that way, like mentioned above, they could snap their fingers and change that fact anytime they wish. Jay isn't the highest paid QB in the league.
They can, but then that creates a burden on future caps by spreading out the cap hit.
Second, they could have signed Ward, Byrd, Verner, or someone else to shore up the secondary along with Houston. With a QB whisperer as HC, I'm still perplexed why the Bears QB has to carry the highest cap hit in the NFL.
Isn't that poor cap management on the Bears part though.
Just saying that while the cap hit goes down significantly next year and in 2016, its still an odd decision with needing potentially 9 new starters (outside of Jennings, Briggs) on defense in 2014, the Bears choose this year to take the cap hit.
The converting to a signing bonus, doesn't that reek some havoc on the cap in 2015, 2016 as well?
Wait is your issue the cap number this year or the future years? Because you can't argue both sides. You can't be mad at the cap hit this year and then be mad if it was spread out more (which it would be if the cap hit wasn't as high this year).
Don't worry guys, the Bears can always cut Rosario again to create some cap relief if needed.
Maybe i will start another thread on this possibility.
