The Chicago Blackhawks would like to announce the acquisition of defensemen Drew Doughty. The Columbus Bluejackets received the rights to veteran defensemen Chris Pronger in a two player straight up deal. We feel Doughty's style fits our team better and gives us a premier power-play quarterback as well as salary cap room.

In an unexpected move, DewSox79 and Captain Iago have drafted D Nicklas Lidstrom. Assistant general manager Captain Iago had this to say:

The Los Angeles Kings are stunned and elated defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom was available for their 4th round pick. He is an intelligent defenseman with an incredible accurate shot from the point. He absolutely thrives with a lot of ice time and is as efficient as they come in his own end. Only two defenseman in the history of the NHL have won more Norris Trophies than he has. A true gamer and future Hall of Famer.

Eric Johnson is a big, tough in-your-face physical defensive defenseman with good puck moving ability. He reminds me a lot of Scott Stevens. We expect big things from this defensive monster.
