Well, everyone is back for game-1 (except Keith due to its suspension).
It looks like Panik will play instead of Weise...he deserves it...by the way, I remember last year Vermette to be an healty scratch for some playoff game and later be quite impressive.
My biggest fear is on the D-side, if TVR step up we will have good chance to repeat last year rush, but we mostly play 2 defensive lines as last season, so the 6 games suspension for Keith may be very positive to rest him. The third pair will have 6-10 minutes per game.
Kruger's return seems, as expected, to ha notably improved our PK, that will be a key.

So, beat those fucking blues... Go Hawks, One Goal

I can't bet on Hawks in game 1. I am much closer to the rarity, going against.

I'll probably sit it out, and just cheer. The Hawks have been funky, for a long time. But this forward set is stacked and all returning.

Crow could be rusty, Keith is out, defense is thin.

Classic stay away game.

Also, I predict Weise with a Bigfoot like playoff run to which we sign him for 4 mil a year.

I still laugh at the story when he was at a Blows game and was pounding on the glass in a Hawks OT win and was either escorted out or arrested.

My thought on this is twofold:

1) I believe upper management and dark room strategy level discussions would have been pleased with the fresh legs impact last post season that occurred from rotating the bottom tier of roster until someone claimed the spot. Fresh legs but also incentive and competition level, putting the high stakes on the bottom to win a spot in the carnival, while the upper half of our team plays with the eternal pressure of legacy and fan expectation for all stars. Forcing the last 3-5 guys to fight for their lives worked out for us.

2) so expect that Panik, Weise, Mashinter will play based on matchups to begin. I think drawing the Blues and Keith out has more to do with Mahinter choice than the players recent form, which would favor Panik.

Weise offers a balance of two and talent. All three will have chances for their moment. Mashinters moment is to fulfill his ruffian role and draw attention away from scorers.

I lol.

But seriously, someday I will re watch all these Hawks playoff runs. Bickel was moving amazingly athletically and had a nack and a flair and was just unmanageable at his size with that scoring confidence and flying to the puck. I remember thinking we had to sign him and thank god someone replaced Buff.

It's mind boggling, moreso he was able to have that playoff run being the stick handler and skater he is. It sure seemed he turned a corner and based on his look of hockey business we can't blame management for what happened. Unlucky timing and the guy played out of his mind, in my mind he LED us to 2013 and our hockey gods do not win that one without a berserk Bickell coming up clutch in multiple tight games and flooring every opponent in sight to the ice.

At least, that's how I rememberer it now.

It's tragic the guy can't even beat out Mashinter or a 24 yo Panik. If something is wrong with him he should be getting treatment. If he just doesn't care, is out of shape, or apathetic or bitter...

I mean what the **** happened here? He got paid and mailed it in? His body failed?

I guess I'm crying now because all along I held hope he would get a late call up for cap reasons and beast once more.

This is the final nail in the coffin.
A good prospect will be lost moving him this summer. ?

What ever happen to puckjim? Has anyone talked to that group about coming here?
He seems to be doing good from what I see on facebook.

Yeah, instant classic. I want to say he hurt his hand.
I doubt they would have done anything if he was a Blows fan, but he always wore his Babchuk jersey LOL.

To this day still the only Babchuk I've seen.
