Thanks guys. I did see my doctor today and he recommended Chantix and wrote me a prescription. I also found out the emphysema is very minor.
At least I'm not in a huge rush to try to quit now right before the holidays. I also want to look into the Zyban Wino mentioned. I believe that's what I used to quit many years ago and it worked great.

Thought you just got Chantix. Dude, you don't want to mix these prescription meds. As with all prescription medicine there are potential side effects. Don't increase those risks.

I never called in the Chantix, was holding off until I looked into Zyban. I called my doctor today and mentioned that he prescribed Zyban 15+ years ago for me and it worked. The nurse I told this to told the doctor and they called in the prescription this afternoon. I'd never mix the two anyways, but the nurse did talk about it to me.

Hmmm. I wonder why that changed? Is it still a prescription?

Zyban/Wellbutrin went generic (buproprion). The only difference in them was the brand name.
