I hope Cashner can come back healthy and be a starter in the rotation. Then just sign a starter in the offseason and the Cubs rotation would be nice.

Garza
Demp
Cashner
Wells
FA starter or trade

Not in any order.

Then just work on the pen, but re-sign Wood and keep Marmol. Marshall will still be here.

Pitching wouldn't be a problem then.

yes it would still be a problem IMO you want pitching to be a strength not just good enough to get by. Wells is not a #4 (i know he is pitching great right now when it means nothing)

Garza wouldnt even be a #4 in Philly we will never win until our pitching is great not just average to bad

But I doubt they move Cashner back to the rotation I bet he will be a bullpen guy from now on.

Alot of us thought pitching wouldnt be the problem this year. That changed fast after first week when Wells and Cashner both went down...Only SP to stay all year is Demp. Rest have been on DL or kicked off team lol

I would like to try 1 more time for him to be SP. Then if he has problems again then yes make him RP which he could become future Closer

Castro hangs onto ball but still has the cannon to get Bay out by half of step

We will know what they plan on with Cashner this winter. Garza is pitching really good, Demp has been OK but not too bad as it may be seen. Wells is a number 4 and maybe a 5, depending on what they don this winter. To prevent further injury, Cash may be a RP. Depending on what tainers say or what not. The Cubs problem with SP this year was because of Russell, Lopez, Bush and Coleman at times.

He has a better arm than he shows. That's why he has to stay at SS. Don't worry about his defense, he'll imprive with age and his O will take that outta question.

Its cause Cubs had no depth in there system in SP area. When you have injuries in your SP like Cubs did like to dip into the sytem where Cubs had to go get guys like Lopez, Ortiz

I think Castro will be average SS in his career. He will make the great plays and make some dumb plays. I dont think he ever be gold glove but his offense will matter so much more at SS then 3B. So i hope they keep him at SS. His range will make up for bad errors. If he can cut down to about 18-20 Errors a year, his range will make up for that and more

They have pitchers they coulda brought up, but didn't. They rather do go with shitty vets. Were the players ready? I'm not sure, but I say yes. I think they coulda done better or the same to say the least. Doulbe A had good pitchers they coulda brought up and Double A is not a reach.

I keep up with the minors, so that's where I come off with.

I call BS Dempster looked like a AA pitcher at the start of the season Garza hasn't pitched like a #3 most of the season. Plus the franchise is at fault for the Big Z train wreck this whole season has been a train wreck and pitching as been absolutely terrible.

Yeah true. I'm not sayin' most or a lot, but he makes errors trying to make the ridiclous play. Also, moving him to 2B would ruin a lot that he has compare to him playin' SS.

I remember when they did a stat on Cubs starters to replacement starters like I mentioned and with the Cubs not having to use replacement starters,k the season woulda been way better. That stat also came when the starters weren't performing like that shoulda have. Also, for the most part Garza has perfom as a 2 starter, don't look at his record because it means shit. He has has his bad games, but all pitchers do.
