Why do the Cubs keep trotting Fonzie out there? The Cubs have 3 younger players who I rather have play; Campy, Colvin and LaHair (I guess because he is technically younger lol).
They have pitchers they coulda brought up, but didn't. They rather do go with shitty vets. Were the players ready? I'm not sure, but I say yes. I think they coulda done better or the same to say the least. Doulbe A had good pitchers they coulda brought up and Double A is not a reach.
I keep up with the minors, so that's where I come off with.

Quade has said he will keep playing the vets (i dont know why he does that i guess he wants to win lol but i read the quote somewhere)

He has said that and I hate that. When the Cubs are out, I want to see the younger kids and see what they can so. For instance, DJ. Barney is not a starter and maybe DJ is.
Castro hangs onto ball but still has the cannon to get Bay out by half of step
What SP could they have brought up? Hendry even came out and said that he felt there were NO SP in minors that were ready. Thats why they went and got Lopez, Ortiz, and let Russell make 5 horrible starts. Another reason i dont get why guys so HIGH on our farm directors and scouting. Been there since 2006 and we dont have any SP that can come up and pitch in MLB? To me that dont deserve a contract extension.
Guy i like to see at 2B is Flaherty. having Flaherty/Baker platoon at 2B next year to me cant be worse then Barney. I think between those 2 would have 20 HR at 2B. Barney is a PERFECT utility IF
He did deserve a contract extension, he was a valueable piece. The farm system has changed and the future in the system looks bright.
Pitchers:
Jay Jackson: He started off the season slow. but when the Cubs need a SP he started to shine. But all year he's been up and down all year, still woulda rather have him.
A lot of all other pitcher too; I know McNutt had dealt with injuries, but he's the top Cubs pitching 'spect sot it woulda been nice to see what could og done.
Also, if the Cubs ever need a RP, they will be fine, their loaded wioth them in the minors. But SP is really not; however, SP to pitch in the majors they have.
I'be been sayin't this for a while, but I think the Cubs future closer could be Rafael Dolis.
LaHair keeps hitting!
Should be on team next year and maybe starting
Don't go that far...well maybe-yeah to on team.
